Travel from Bristol/Swindon/South Wales

Post by sann0638 »

Starting to look at options now - approached the head, who wasn't entirely favourable about me having the Friday off, so until I get my timetable for next year (early July usually) I won't know when I can travel, so I'm looking at the option for ferry late on Friday.

Think taking the school minibus abroad might be pushing it a bit, but 4-5 in a car seems sensible, and it's only £60 return from Dover to Calais on the ferry. Gets in pretty late on Friday though.

What are Team Wales/Bristol types planning?

the 2 times i used a ferry (last time was actually to go to brighton 3-4 years ago ;)), the one between Dover and Dunkirk was the cheapest ferry.
and then Dunkirk is much closer to Oostende as Calais (but i assumed the ferry takes more time).

edit:
apparently, it's more expansive for a Dover-Dunkirk-Dover, than a Dunkirk-Dover-Dover

Hi all,
now have my timetable for next year, so can start planning in earnest. Any thoughts?
