but 4 belgians and 4 dutch should be doable under the proposed/accepted rules. no hosting rights, but thats not an issue.
trouble is which country wins the honors/naming rights. i think dutch, but hey, i am like that

I guess it would depend on who is eligible to play for the other nation. If it's 4 Dutchies + 1 Belgian who could be Dutch, you're the Netherlands, and if that's reversed you're Belgium. If you can go either way, perhaps you should have an internal 4 v 4 fixture to work it out?

I would be interested to know where the 'unwritten rules' process got to. Joe did a good job typing the document up, and I think it would be a handy thing to host on eurobowl.eu to answer questions like this when they arise. Is it one of those things that has slipped through the cracks with multiple captaincy changes? I'm happy to PM the full document to the organisers if it needs fresh discussion between the new captains in the lead up to Sweden.

Kidding aside, team 'Low Countries', some form of a straight 4+4 (or 4+3+1 from Luxembourg) wouldn't fit the rule as copy / pasted above. Teams only work if it's 5 eligible players + freebooters. I assume the proposed Holland / Belgium join up is only on the cards because 1+ of one of the fours qualifies for the other team, and the team will be labelled the Netherlands or Belgium.

Actually the trouble comes from the fact that none of the two countries can field more than 4 players. Currently we are 4 Dutch and a bit less Belgians but Driesfield is working on it. Obviously if we managed to get a 5th Dutch I assume we will go under Dutch flag, but it seems that we are out of options (apart from bringing in another complete beginner - that leaves 4 months for training)

I would understand if this is not allowed, but we are just trying to not leave a man behind (4 is not so great for EurOpen)

Aha. In that case, good luck raising a fifth man from one camp or another. Would be a shame not to see Belgium / Holland.

Get in one more beginner. Bloodbowl is not scary. Anyone can throw dice.

Given that the Eurobowl apparently started as the Dutch and Belgians trying to get an international match set-up it would be a real shame.

Tem Belgium will be at Eurobowl in Sweden with at least 5 belgian coaches and possibly even 6!

Looks like it's filling up. With Team Belgium, there are going to be 14 national teams, and 24 in the EurOpen.

And there are still some nations missing which I imagine will be there - Spain, Portugal, and Austria were at the last two EB's and haven't signed up yet.

Also, I need some players who are as bad as I am to sign up for EurOpen, so I have a chance to not come in last
