Hi Loki,

If you look up http://www.thenaf.net/2014/11/eurobowl- ... ting-2014/ referenced earlier in this thread:

"Finland do not want to host due to being a small community and not being able to organise alcohol easily in the venue. Norway also not want to host, nor Switzerland. That leaves Scotland, Wales, Hungary, Sweden, Portugal." relating to 2016

and

"Norway still do not want to host in 2017, or Switzerland. Finland were not sure."

So Scotland, Wales and Hungary may be joined by Finland, Norway and/or Switzerland competing to host 2018 at the 2016 Eurobowl if they fulfil the hosting criteria specified elsewhere (which I know Serbia don't).

Actually how it normally has worked is that in the captains meeting at Eurobowl each nation that has not yet hosted are asked if they want to. If yes then they are in contention. Switzerland & Serbia & Norway so far have not wanted to host.(as just posted by Garrick)

On the subject of the unwritten rules they have not yet been agreed by all the captains. I intend to raise it as a topic at the Captains meeting in Sweden.

The not necessarily endorsed "unwritten rules" reposted here for clarity?:

1. Teams
...
4. Each national team must include at least five coaches who would be eligible to play for that nation under FIFA rules. Briefly summarised this means that a coach must be of the nationality in question, have at least one parent or grandparent who held the relevant nationality , is a resident of that nation or hold citizenship of that nation. Any coach not meeting these criteria is known as a ‘freebooter’. Freebooters may be of any nationality, and are a good way for smaller nations to fill in numbers or to replace last minute drop outs.
...

4. Hosting Rights
...
3. To be eligible to host a nation must have sent a national team of eight to at least two of the previous three Eurobowls. (Agreed Oostende 2014)
4. The team at the current Eurobowl must also have at least six FIFA eligible (or local resident) coaches rather than the normal five.
5. Nations who have previously hosted are not eligible to host again whilst there are nations who have yet to have the chance.

Ah, that clarifies what I had misunderstood, I though a nation could host after its second appearance but according to those rules a nation needs to attend at least 3 of 4 years including current Eurobowl to be able to host.
