Setting up a team Ireland for eurobowl 18

Post by Raging82 »

Hello anyone interested in reading this post. I’ve created a Facebook page and group ( blood bowl Ireland- home of Irish blood bowl and blood bowl team Ireland), and will be campaigning to create a Irish team for the eurobowl 2018.
To be eligible to play ( as a Irish player ) you will need to be one of the following-
Born in Ireland.
Be living in Ireland for longer then 2 Years.
Parent or grandparent born In Ireland.
Not played for another national team after turning 21. ( I don’t believe playing for the pirates team counts but I will investigate this ).

We will also appreciate a coaches application to play as a freebooters also.

The short term goals are-
Selecting the coaches for the team that will play in eurobowl 2018.
Creating a team uniform ( probably t-shirt ) options and pricing will be agreed on between the team.
Not to finish last in wales 2018.

Mid term goals-
More merchandise like dice ect
Continue with a team to other eurobowls ( Poland 2020 and beyond)

Long term goals-
Win hosting rights for our own eurobowl.

Can I ask that people spread the word so we can make this happen.

Kind regards
Raging82

It would be awesome to have great players like yourself. Please visit the page/group mentioned above ( if you have Facebook) if not I’ll create a team email and organise from that.

I believe only five coaches need to "Really" be Irish, at least for Eurobowl rules.

I'll spread the word, good luck!

Is https://www.facebook.com/irishbloodbowl/ the correct link?

Hi,
Great if there is an Irish team!
Regarding your requirements to play as Irish , I thought they are not fully correct and wanted to point you to the now written and ratified eurobowl rules.
I just realised I don’t find them anywhere...
so I appreciate pointers myself :)
Cheers

I really hope you can put a team together. It'd be great to see an Irish team. I'd be eligible to play (half Irish) if I was not already a member of team Scotland.

I’m waiting to see what the written criteria is then I will change all and any posts I’ve put out. Just so I’m not constantly changing it. I’d based mine off what I’d seen of another country eligibility but I have been informed that I might be being too strict. At the moment I’m still on the advertisement and recruitment phase so need to get this bit right.

I once tried a Guinness for a dare.

Does that count as being Irish?

I'm half-Irish and a passport holder, so definitely going to hit the criteria.
However, Eurobowl in general is at a really bad time of year for me as it usually lands between my two sons' birthdays (this year his birthday is actually on the Saturday I think), so its unlikely I'll be making any for the next few years. But I'm really happy to see this and hoping you can get a team together!
I'm also happy to join any practice sessions on FUMBBL if you need extra people!

Is the team representing the island of Ireland or the Republic of Ireland?

Or to put it another way; are you following Rugby or Football selection rules??
