Bruni's Beinbrottiers

Post by bungo_underhill »

Disclaimer, this Cable cast is made by a northern channel known to be predudiced especially against the more "pansy" teams and does not always present a none bias view.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bob: Hello Cable viewers! You join us here for the edited highlights of the first professional game of Bruni's Beinbrottiers' (That's Bone breakers for those of you that don't speak the old tongue), as they enter their two match training period before the up and coming Chaos Cup Season. The Northmen will be playing the Milesian Banshees an all female Elf team also cutting their teeth for the first time on the professional field. Let's hope that they can remember that they're not just here for a big scrap and there is a ball to move around too.

Jim: Well just look at this Bob, Bruni's boys won the toss and decided to have the Elves kick to them, apparently Big Coach Bruni thinks his boys are less likely to forget about the ball if it lands in front of them.

Bob: And from the very start the Norse boys sure didn't pull any punches; sending two of the Elven ladies to their Dugout before the ball had barely left the elven kickers foot, if they continued like that the elves were going to be severely out-numbered.

Jim: Funny you should say that Bob as it was only minutes later that the Boys sent one of the girls to an early grave leaving just eight of the Milesians on the pitch against the full strength of the Norse team.

Bob: Well apart form all the bloodshed in the early part of the first half, the Lads also managed to push a caged ball up the pitch. And the developing talent of the boys only runner Erp break away to score halfway through the first Half.

Jim: After a fancy display of ball handling by the elves with some beautifully made passes the Norse boys got jealous and smashed the ball carrier to try and wrest control back, unfortunately the boys weren't so good at trying to pick the ball up, but after a manic few minutes of a scattering ball it ended up in the possession of Finn, one of the Bone-Breakers Werewolves!

Bob: ...and those Elves really didn't want to risk snatching the ball back from that slavering beast of a player preferring to try and take down some of the more lightly armoured Norse. Leaving Finn free to run the ball up the the wide zone for Bruni's Boys second touchdown of the match, 2-0!

Jim: The first half ends with the banshees trying to win a TD back, but unfortunately there legendary dexterity doesn't seem to be with them this match and the bone breakers live up to there name smashing an exquisite elven ankle.

Bob: The second half starts with a wide kick by the Northmen awarding a touchback to the elves. Who with a reduced squad opt to form a cage in the middle of the feild running both a blitzer and catcher down the feild to keep the passing opportunities open.

Jim: But Bruni's guys outnumbering the gals completely surround the cage and still have a few players left to drop back to hinder the receivers knocking one of them down in the process.

Bob: Some very fancy foot work by the elves brings them to the brink of scoring their first touch down but a fumble by their Blitzer at the last second leaves her standing in the end zone with the crowd throwing the ball into the scrum.

Jim: with the elf players all tied up this leaves the Runner Erp free to grab his second TD of the match 3-0.

Bob: With what should probably have been the final kick of the match the Norse show a further display of brutality and launch a Blitz on the Elven team!

Jim: As the elves had deployed their team expecting to get the drop on the bone-breakers allowed the guys with the horned helmets to run a number of players to get some pressure on the ball before it even landed as well as putting another Elven catcher off the pitch.

Bob: It brought a tear to my eye to see this Jim, after the elves struggled to get the ball moving due to the Norse presence the opportunity arose for a lowly lineman to run in a TD and Trond did himself proud, a true hero for all the under appreciated linemen out there. 4-0!

Jim: as the match drew to a close Illuriel desperate for revenge for her fallen comrades resorted to dirty, unfair and illegal tactics to take the rare opportunity of one of her opponents being down on the pitch. Kicking him in the head, will leave the bone-breakers a beserker down for their next match.

Bob: Ah well yes Jim, although rummer has it that his injury wasn't that server he just wanted some time off to spend with a new friend who recently found herself sacked from playing pro Blood Bowl. These Norse guys are made of tough stuff you know!

Jim: And that ends the first match of two exciting new teams, with a 4-0 score and 5-1 the casualties count I don't think Bruni could have hoped for a better game, I'll be keeping my eye on these guys and I'm sure the fans will too!
