Hi there,

it's me again. Going on and on about other Fantasy Football Games :)
To me it looks like the Slaughterball campaign over at Kickstarter is really struggling to get funded and frankly, I really don't understand why. The game looks great, the rules sound very enjoyable and there is so much right with this campaign that other crowdfunding campaigns are doing wrong in my opinion (the biggest one being Slaughterball actually showing the game's rules).

But in fact I don't want to pester you for your pledge money. Instead I would like to know what you think is wrong with the campaign or what could be done better? I'd be even more interested in some hints where I could go to and try to promote the campaign a little bit. The main thing, I think, Slaughterball did wrong was to not launch a social media campaign before actually starting the crowdfunding process. So if you could point me to some websites or blogs that I could talk to or even forums where people might be interested in this kind of game, that would be a great help!

As I would really like to do what I can to get this game funded. And while I am in no way ssociated to Erik, the creator, I do think he's on to something with Slaughterball and he clearly got his heart in the right place (hopefully that is the correct way to say this in English).

If you want to, feel free to have a look at the campaign over at Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fr ... ughterball
If not, I'd still be interested in hearing your opinion.

Thanks a lot! Your help is greatly appreciated!

Have him let it fail the first time around. Reasons:
Recent and current competition
No real pre release frenzy
What about the big review guys
I would have to dig into it to give you in sights on finnicals, stretch goals ect.
By no means forget the project. Just a strategic retreat and launch a reinforced attack.
I am sure the community would be willing to deluge deeper.
Email me and we can go into far greater depth You might want to include the creator in the dicussion.

Axe it, re-group, engage people pre launch with all the normal stuff, and for gods sake sort out the shipping... Get him to talk to Tom, other successful kickstarters, traders, and discover how other games have done it. I would have bought a copy but for the shipping, but I am the easy audience, what about everyone else?.

I don't like the style of figures, or the size, so I was on the "very uninterested" list, but the shipping was the final straw (and I've seen he's working on it).

But I'll back up the social media side of it - even just coming to BB forums might have been a start. Might not have been his fault, given the way KS can hold campaigns, but going up against DBX (a game with a ready-made community) and Guildball (which has a big online presence) hasn't helped him either. Given that I can only afford to back on campaign at a time for the sort of pledges to be worthwhile, Slaughterball had no chance against DBX, and I'd have backed Guildball before it too.

Thanks a lot for the replies, I really appreciate it.
@daloonieshaman: I will definitely get back to you on that offer and email you.

Hmm, how about those community websites? Any ideas who to talk to? Even if it might not be for this Kickstarter project, but to pave the way for a potential follow up project?

Thanks again!
