Slaughterball is back
it seems that he has taken our advice and regrouped and restarted slaughterball
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fr ... orts-board

I downloaded the PnP and the rules look really fun
the reviews for the game are off the chart
I cannot comment on the play until I read the rules and play a few games with the league
it appears to fill the time problem of our league and BB (plus the rules look solid for 3 and 4 player games)

Slaughterball
I like the game
The kickstarter brings us to what kickstarter is all about, raising money to develop and release a game (unlike the big guys who use it as a pre sale release like reaper or cmon)
Fast Play
40mm models (They are plastic, personally I prefer the heft of metal but hey, just me)
2-4 plays
SOLID rules
Standard league players do not suffer perminant injury of death (rules options allow for this)
you are not burdened with tracking SPPs you just buy skills with team cash
Skills cost different amounts based on real gameplay value
As with every game I can't wait to paint some models and don't care for others
FREE rules download on the kickstarter with PnP (even the stadium)

see for yourself
I think you will find this a good quick alternative those time consuming league BB games

Alresdy got Dreadball for that, plus not a fan of the figures.
Glad its funded, but followed it the first time and this time, and just not for me.

Nice to see Slaughterball get over the line. $58 for shipping kills it stone dead for me unfortunately - although that's the same for many KS campaigns.

the good thing for most is that it is EU friendly so no customs and shipping is a lot less for the European backers

It is tough to be a gamer in Aus I hear

Some campaigns have multiple fulfillment centres, Cool Mini Or Not for example can do Zombicide shipping for $15-25 to Australia, which makes it viable. It is annoying when a product is being made in China - which is closer to Australia than the EU/US (and closer than a lot of Australians would really like to admit :0 ) gets double handled.

Games cost a lot here, partially because shipping is just f'in expensive, and partially because people are used to being stiffed.
