Canadian Legacy Team

Post by danchaput »

Quick question for all my fellow Canadian coaches. Has any of you ever though about getting a legacy team going here in the great white north. I have an idea about one and would liek to know if anyone is interested in doing one.
Idea is a human team and who ever joins would paint/convert a human player/coach/doc/etc to represent him/her.
Afterwards we would be able to do a drawing for team.
Let me know what you all think.

something like this was done last year

viewtopic.php?t=25277

I've only been here a year, but I believe it has actually been done for the last 4 years, but most participants are in Europe.

If you were to get one done in the US/Canada however, I would be in.

I know that legacy teams have been going on for quite some time now. Just thought with some of the guys that I have seen or played against in the different tourneys throught eh years it would be quite funny to see them in fig form.
A whole team that you would love to hear that Spazz throws a long bomb to Glenn Jones for a touchdown.

As a Canuck Expat... I'd love to get back to my Roots.

But only if I can be a Blitzer!

The idea with humans is that you would model yourself as a player. Of course the team colours would have to be red and white.

Count me in.

Perhaps we could do the idea I was thinking of for a norse team:

The True Norse Strong and Free!

Each of the positions could be different Canadian icons (inuit, hockey player, cowboy, fisherman, etc,)

Like that idea using the Norse team instead.....

SO lets open this up to all Canadian coaches out there.....

1.Team colours would have to be Red and White
2.Some snow on the base for sure
3.Everyone that joins will have a chance to win the team
4.Deadline??????? ... one idea is to do the drawing at next years Sweetbun and then coming up for the next Canadina legacy team idea for the following year and so on and so on
5.Now the two ideas for players are A.modelling urself as one of the players/coaching staff/turn amkers or td marker..B.creating a canadian icon/symbol/personnality for your model

any other ideas from any of you would be appreciated

I like the idea of modeling yourself as a player/staff member. Kind of makes me wish I was Canadian, but it's too cold there.
