At this rate, I'll have a pretty high chance of winning a couple of dwarfs to start a BB team with ;) :o

Wikipedia:
Student syndrome refers to planned procrastination, when, for example, a student will only start to apply themselves to an assignment at the last possible moment before its deadline. This eliminates any potential safety margins and puts the person under stress and pressure. According to one academic source, it is done in order to induce a level of urgency high enough to ensure the proper amount of effort is put into the task.

The term is used to describe this form of procrastination in general, and not only by students, e.g. in the field of software engineering... and model painting

I understand that completely :) My usual painting habits are that I select an unpainted team for a tournament and then scrabble to paint them in the couple of weeks before the event. This is how I get my teams out of the bare metal pile and into full painted glory. My human team for Thrud is a cracking example. Finished painting them the week before (and painted the dwarf at the same time - hence why mine's done early! ) having had them undercoated (the state I bought them in) on my painting desk for a couple of years...
I'm currently painting Skaven for another tournament under similar circumstances ;)

I'm actually shocked, guys. You* all managed to get the 2016 team done by September!

*I haven't actually checked list of names from 2016 vs 2017, so "you all" might not be the same group of yous.

Finally got the time to finish Grim.

The plastic Gw Trollslayer is a lovely model and he was a lot of fun to paint with plenty of detail. Am still getting the hang of NMM gold, so only was able to get it right for his armour and belt and ended up doing the other metallic bits using normal silver paint with some light grey or white highlights. But pretty happy with how he turned out.
