Well, with the hand-in date starting to get closer and closer I was just wondering how everyone was doing? Peraonally I've been well lazy, trying to get a Deathguard army painted in time for a tourny in October so my Beastman's been sitting on the table untouched for about 2 months now.

P.S. Anyone remember exactly when the hand in date was?

Unless I've missed something, it's still 31st January 2004, as stated on the first message of this thread.

Plenty of time :D

Mine is still just base coated. Have to finish up my NAF contribution and a couple of my teams so that I am covered for tourneys. But, now that I have a roof I'm finding that painting can commence again.

any other progresses ?? I like to know how the other CW are going... I stopped painting mine.... frustrating.. damn hard to paint I think... and the colours just don't seem to come out looking nice... maybe it's the colour scheme.... maybe it are my painting skills..... ?(I think the last one :-? )
so I like to see how you are doing it... :-?

Yeah, sorry bout that, I didn't mean for the post to sound like it's the sprint to the finishline or anything, I was just hoping people weren't leaving things till the last minute. I figure the sooner we get these things in the better though of course there is no rush.

I was figuring I was just gonna do your general goblin green base with static grass then paint some white lines on the grass. However colours of static grass are going to vary quite wildly I'd assume so if there's any other suggestions to make them a little more uniform?

Basing, well a litle tricky as everyone uses their own techniques. Personally i'll go the goblin green route, then some static grass, mixed with some sand and small gravel pieces.

I'm sure most of us has some static grass lying around (if you don't, run out and get some, it looks marvellous on the pitch... and even better on the bases). The light green variant should be the one most common, and it blends in smoothly with the green shade of the gaming board. If the colours still vary (different manufacturers, etc), maybe we could drybrush the grass lightly with bleached bone in order to smoothe out the differences? Just an idea...

Update - not even STARTED on my mini yet, CamCarnage has totally swallowed up all my time. Not done the NAF one either, and I'll have the Spikey team to do before these guys...

to think I wanted it done in a couple of months at first :)
