Boudica Bowl 6

PRICE: £15 for NAF members, £20 for new NAF members (includes NAF sign-up).
Payments (as a gift please) to hdwsbbl.boudica.bowl@gmail.com (and remember to include your NAF name and number!)
-- Note: I won't be doing NAF renewals this year as I'm going to be way too busy early next year (and may not even be there on the day); I'll sort out new memberships as best I can but renewals can be done online easily enough.

VENUE: this year we're back in Godmanchester, the venue has parking and a good curry house nearby but more limited food selection for lunch.
The Comrades Club
Godmanchester
Huntingdon
Cambs
PE29 2AY

Note: for comfort reasons I'm putting a limit on sign-ups this year, we can stretch to 32 but more than that would be pushing things a bit.

15:30 - 17:45 Sixth round matches
18:00 Final Presentation and close of tournament

ROSTERS:
Boudica Bowl will be using the current NAF Rules, as detailed on the NAF website and used by standard at all NAF tournaments.
All 24 CRP teams, including Slann, Chaos Pact and Underworld, can be used.
Note: whatever the result of the NAF vote, Bretonnians and Khorne will not be allowed this year.
Each coach will get 1,100,000 gold pieces maximum to spend on their team.
All CRP inducements are allowed, except for mercenaries, special play cards and wizards. Star players are allowed, but you must have 11 rostered players before you can purchase them. If 2
coaches both hire the same star, he will play for both teams. All Star Players from CRP, DZ1 and DZ2 are allowed along with the 3 from Bugmans (rules in the full rules-pack)

This year, coaches will be asked to bring along 2 teams; each one will be used in 3 games, decided by the coach beforehand (in secret).
Before each game : once the draw has been made and you’ve found your opponent+table, each coach will pick in secret which team they are using for the match, and then both will reveal
them at the same time (the exact method of doing this will be determined before the event and will be published on the day). A coach is allowed to know which teams their opponent has used
prior to the match.

SKILLS
The Boudica Skills Package is tiered the same as last year; each team will have a number of skills to give out before the tournament starts. These skills must be chosen before registration . No stat increases are allowed. Both teams a coach brings will have the skills applied.

Tier 0
Amazon, Chaos Dwarf, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Lizardman, Norse, Orc, Skaven, Undead, Wood elf
7 skills

Tier 1
Chaos Pact, Elf, High Elf, Human, Necro, Slann
8 skills

Tier 2
Chaos, Khemri, Nurgle, Underworld, Vampire
9 skills

Tier 3
Goblin, Halfling, Ogre
10 skills

Each team is allowed to trade 2 normal skills for a double skill (up to 2 double skills per team).
Each team can also trade 2 normal skills to stack put a second normal on a player who has already received one (note: a single player cannot have a double skill and a normal skill).
There is no limit to skills, so the same number can be taken any number of times… stacking dirty player on a team of zombies is fine by us :-)

SCORING
Boudica Bowl will be a six game tournament. The first round will be a random draw, then rounds two to six will be drawn Swiss style.
We’ve dispensed with bonus points for this year; a win give 2 points, a draw 1, and a loss 0
As before, in case of concessions, unless it’s a valid concession as per CRP (i.e. the coach could not field more than 2 players at the start of a drive) the conceding coach will get -10 points (with no bonus points from the game) and will be unable to claim any trophies at the end of the tournament.

For the Most CAS trophy, casualties from a Block, Foul, Secret Weapon, Crowd Push or Stab count.
For determining prizes, the following tiebreakers will be used (in order):
1. Tier-points - e.g. the total number of tier points a coach brings.
*** Example: Dr. von Churchman bring along Undead and Wood Elves; both are tier 0, so he gets 0 points for the tie-breaker. Meanwhile, coach Mad Ol’ Sarnie plays goblins and vampires, giving him 5 points. In the unlikely event of these coaches being tied, Sarnie will finish above Churchman.
2. Strength of schedule (opponents’ scores)
3. Net (combined) TDs & Cas
4. Closest to the bull (3 darts)
5. Coin toss

Eligible teams for stunty cup are: Halflings, Goblins, Ogre only. Proper stunty teams only, rather than the pseudo-stunty cheats we’ve allowed in previous years.

Right... lots of exciting news.

Firstly, I've got most of the rules up.

Secondly, I've got a new date - the week after, since the Montagu (Huntingdon venue) wouldn't talk to me and the Comrades (Godmanchester venue) couldn't do the original weekend.
So we're back in Godmanchester again, home of the awesome Boudica-Saturday-evening-curry.

Thirdly, we've got NAF approval.

Finally, possibly best of all for you guys... due to the date move I may not be there both days, if not I'll leave you in the very capable hands of someone else from the club... will post up details nearer the time if so.

I'll post up a full rulespack in a few days once I've finalised the venue details and will start taking payments then.

Winner. A St. Patrick's Day special. Also means these dates don't clash with something else so I can definitely attend.

Rulespack attached. Ready to accept payments as and when :-)

As a quick update, I won't be doing NAF renewals this year as I'm going to be way too busy early next year (and may not even be there on the day); I'll sort out new memberships as best I can but renewals can be done online easily enough.

Paid. Although gutted I can't do Brettonian/Khorne. I would be so popular with that combo. :)
