Abbey Bowl 3 - May 27th, Bruges - Belgium

Post by El Hombre »

For now mainly a confirmation of the date, so you can block it in your agenda.

Full rules will follow; but are usually the same as the upcoming EC or WC.

Timetable also to be decided, but we will play four games.

Entry fees will be very very low, but all participants will be asked to provide a small prize to add to the prize pool. More details to follow.

TIME SCHEDULE
Last year we managed to play four games in time, and most coaches agreed it was well worth the effort. So we'll give it another go. :

8u30 - 9u00 opening and registration
9u00 - 11u15 GAME 1
11u15 - 11u45 lunch break (we'll order sandwiches)
11u45 - 14u00 GAME 2
14u15 - 16u30 GAME 3
16u45 - 19u00 GAME 4
19u closing ceremony

entrance fee
€1 (sandwich not included)
+ something(*) to add to the prize pool

(*)people have asked to specify "something": I guess everybody has that odd miniature around, painted or not, that you're not really going to use but somebody else might be very happy with. If you don't, we're all gamefans, so I'd say stay in the branche... but really, just use your common sense. Nobody's in it for the merits I guess...

RULES (you'll notice these are the rules for EUROBOWL 2017 in Portugal - to get your practice games in ;) )
please notice: as of yet, I've not seen a change in this rules (regarding the GW new release). Should the EB-organisors decide to adjust certain things, I will fully implement those changes.

1100 gold to buy team.
All 21 races from CRP plus the 3 extra NAF-sanctioned teams.
Halflings can buy (0-1) chef
Goblins can buy (0-3) bribes
Only tier 3 teams may buy (0-2) star players, but only in addition to 11 regular players.
No other inducements allowed
All skills rostered before game 1, no progression. (please bring a printed copy of your roster, so we can check it if necessary)

All skills will be chosen before the tournament and will stay the same for all matches throughout the tournament. See the tier chart below for information on how many and which type of skills your selected team can choose. A coach may use some or all of the extra cash (tier 2 & 3) to buy skills. The rest is added to the team treasury and used towards building the team. Skills are priced as follows, 20K for a normal skill and 30K for a double skill. Skills cannot be stacked.

Tier 1
6 normal skills.
Amazon, Chaos Dwarf, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Lizardmen, Norse, Orc, Skaven, Undead and Wood Elf.

Tier 2
6 normal skills +1 double skill + either 20K extra gold
Chaos, Chaos Pact, High Elf, Human, Khemri, Necromantic, Nurgle, Pro Elf and Slann.

Tier 3
6 normal skills + 1 double skill + 50 extra gold
Goblin, Halfling, Ogre, Vampire and Underworld.

prizes
There will be a golden trophy for the winner, and a NAF-shield if they allow us (not sure on the current rulings regarding shields...)
All the prizes brought by the players will be put into a prize pool, from which each and every participant will get to choose something; winner goes first. So nobody will go home empty-handed.

location
Zevenkerken 4 - Brugge.
this address will lead you to an avenue entering a forest. At the end of the avenue, you'll have a roundabout with only one exit: take it. You'll see a metal fence (will be open): drive through and park on the field where my students play basketball :)

(0. ikzelf als spare player)
1. Frank Wille (welcome back!)
2. MagicTobe
3. Driesfield
4. Araznaroth
5. Troubadourken
6. ...
