For those that need a picture reference, for a figs with crocidile/snake themes, he's looking for:
The C19 Lizardmen:
http://www.solegends.com/citc/c19lizardmen.htm
or
The C27 Chaos Snakemen:
http://www.solegends.com/citc/c27snakemen.htm
It should be mentioned that these figs are OLD!!!, GW produced them from 1983 to 1987.
If you are open to alternatives, RAFM makes a Gilla Worm Fantasy "Blood Bowl" team that is very snakelike and has some very interesting poses.
http://www.geocities.com/galakstarscrap ... mTeam.html
To order them go to the RAFM site:
http://www.rafm.com/Jsc2/JSC.htm
The blisters are listed under RAFM 25mm Fantasy ... then under Reptiliads.
The figs are very low cost and fun.
Also if you like playing with new team concepts instead, we did at one point come up with a roster for this team also.
Okay that's the trivia dump for me for today.

Code: Select all
Okay taking the ideas that I seen so far, I like the overall idea so far. The Mediums are low to the ground put have those long tails and the Lights and Heavy are TALL (like I said the minis are Morg the Ogre type height).
I agree with a lot of the thoughts that the team screams AV 7 except for the Heavies which have some pretty decent armour ... the Snake bodies look fast.
I also like the ideas of skills based on Snakes: Prehensile Tail, Tackle, Side Step, and VLL.
So if I throw Krinos, Morg, and Thadrin's ideas into a blender I get:
0-12 Medium Packers: 7/3/3/7 Prehensile Tail 70k Gen
0-4 Light Packers: 8/3/3/7 Sidestep, VLL 90k Gen/AG
0-4 Heavy Packers 7/3/3/8 Block,Tackle,VLL 110k Gen/ST
60k Rerolls
Kroxigor Big Guy ally
(Note: all VLL movement bonuses are already factored into MA)
I think this really mixes well together to create a snake based roster:
The lineman are quick and able to coil around opponents to slow them down.
The catchers are slippery and fast and able to strike and nab their prey (the ball)
The blitzers are the hunters ... powerful strikes that nail their targets mixed with the ability to strike down passing balls.
Seems pretty snakeish to me without being abusive. Thoughts?
The minis also work good for this team concept:
4 packs of Medium, 1 Pack of Heavy, and 2 Packs of Lights (then use the middle Light as a Heavy (he'd look more like the heavies than the lights to begin with anyway) ... you'd end up with one extra of the middle Lights ... not bad ... and affordable ... the 16 player team would only cost $34 and your could pick up the cheering fans, apothecary, and owner/coach/referee for an extra $18 ...... $52 dollars for an entire team is pretty darn reasonable

If you really want the old C range figures though, your best bet is to start contacting the old miniature dealers.
Contact the Virtual Alchemist, http://www.virtualalchemist.com or
write PD Hanton, PDHanton@aol.com .
Both of these are good starting points when questing for the old C range miniatures ... I know because I've used a lot some of them for my BB teams (especially the old Dungeonbowl monster).
When you contact them, tell them Tom Anders referred you, it helps sometimes because as I deal with them off and on, they've asked me questions on my referrals and I've been able to help occassionally with extra information on what the goal of finding the miniature was.
