Re: UK Elfball players - Tournament Sat March 6th in Swindon, UK

Post by antipixi »

I'll be there. I've been given the green light from the missus despite it being her birthday weekend!

I'm already excited! Especially since the snow days today and tomorrow will have given me the time to finish painting my divine wind team. :)

Great stuff guys - are Divine Wind known for getting players sent off then? My Siringit are on the painting table just now, and have just finished some elves that were just ahead of them in the pecking order.

Unlikely to be able to make it, but if I can, I will.
If I can, I'll be using Thunder Hammer dwarfs, as they're the only Impact mini's I have painted (and I'm not using Grandma's...).

Was this rule with 2 players per turn or 1 player per turn? Did you also play that when you get to the end of the deck the game is over, and was this rule envisioned to be used with 1 or 2 players per turn?

The GenCon tournament did one player per a turn. We did not have any games reach the bottom of the deck before time was called or a game was one. I guess you could also say that the game is over if the bottom of the card deck is reached because if someone doesn't score and the ball has been in someone's possession for a total of 52 turns ... that's pretty sad.

Coming over for this is obviously out, but it has at least motivated me to see what I have painted. Turns out that I have at least one fully, one nearly fully painted and one half painted teams.

Actually motivated me to get the unfinished teams done and learn to play.
(the "Nearly" is my Valkyries...have a Shadowforge Ogress to be my "Snow Troll" to paint. I would use the Impact troll, but I already have two of that model painted for other FF teams - Pact and Norse. The Half painted is Gnolls. Not sure I'd want to use my fully painted Dwarfs. Not wild about the uniform player stats.)

Well, I've finished painting my Divine Wind team. (I'll post pics tomorrow if I have enough time.)

Mike - Obviously you'll be wanting painted teams playing, but will sideline staff (Cheerleaders and Zlurpee kegs) need painted models too, or can we just spend the points and record them on our roster? I ask now whilst I still have time to paint some.

Btw, well done for taking action to organise this tournament. I'm trying to drum up interest with those I play with to join in.

I am really looking forward to this!

Chris :)

I've still not painted my Desert Dogs, Siringit or Pharoahs so will use the tournament as encouragement to paint at least one of those teams.

Galak......Any chance of a 'sneak peak' at the Viking Shapeshifters?

@Chris - great stuff, bring a carful! No need for sideline staff to be painted, or indeed represented by minis.

@Dave - I'm 90% likely to be playing Siringit, if that influences your decision about which to paint!

In that case I'll play Pharoahs of Vihktora. That'll give me the incentive to paint them up and try to learn how to play them by then.
