Excellent - thanks Matt,

I'm about to buy the game and deciding what to buy at the same time, to keep P&P costs down.
Think I'll probably get the extra team cards, but will probably buy the 2 minute warning deck at a later date (after I've found some people to play against!)

How about running a tourney later in the year? That would get you a few opponents for a day.

Hey, I'd be up for it :)

Well.....as soon as I've learned the rules properly :-?

Edit:- quick poll - how many people would be up for it? I can ask down at Maelstrom if they'd let me book their gaming hall for a day - I'm sure they'd be up for it. It would be at Mansfield, Notts

If you want a game online man then just hit me or sann up and I would be keen to play again as the painting queue is getting thankfully shorter for the short term! :D

I'd be up for it if I'm free.

What are you up to tomorrow? The tournament in Bedford is about a 2 hour drive for you.

We have at least 2 complete novices playing and we're 1 short of an even number at the mo.

I'd not charge you the £10 for the day if you balance the numbers.

Can't make it I'm afraid - I'd already considered it but the timing isn't great :(

Depending on dates I'd also be interested.

Don't worry about being a novice, I've only had two proper games (both of which I lost  ) and I'm attending the tourney tomorrow. It's a good way of getting to learn the game through four games in a short period of time.

Depending on how late in the year (baby at beginning of August!). 3/4 of us from Swindon would probably pop along, and could probably encourage my Sheffield-based brother to make the trip.

I've downloaded vassal etc and had a quick go, so yes, sounds good - just need to set some time aside for it! I'm not much of a technology bod tho, and much prefer the roll of real dice to playing online!

Right, I've got the green light on using Maelstroms gaming hall for an Elfball tournament - and it sounds like I can use it for free!

So....when is best for people? I'd like to avoid a weekend where BB tournaments are running (for obvious reasons), and probably not before mid september, so I have time to learn rules and paint teams etc! Can't really do it before August, Sann - their hall is pretty fully booked throughout the summer

Also, there's a chance this could become a regular feature.

Thoughts?

Fantastic news. As long as the dates are doable, I'll be there.

I meant not too soon after August - difficult to leave the wife with three when one of them is tiny!

Gav was talking about November for his (Manchester), so September is probably best. Have a look at the BB calendar (though this wouldn't affect the Swindon lot, I'm not doing any BB tourneys after Carrot until 2011.

Good man!

Mike

PS I think antipixi had a leftover card deck, if you wanted to get it off him at some point.

I thought Dave bought them.

If it's September, please avoid 18/19th, as I'll be at the Vault Bowl.
