Herts & Essex Blood Bowl League Season XI

Post by lentheman »

Herts & Essex Blood Bowl Leagues - Season XI!

The HEBBL Admin team are very pleased to announce Season XI of the HEBBL Championship. After the offseason, where many of our members have chosen to donate all their gold to a company who sell small spaceships, we are once again raring to go.

Whilst Season X was an evolution Season XI promises to be a revolution.

Firstly Season XI will be a total reset, meaning all previous HEBBL teams are now completely retired and cannot be brought back for future seasons.
The reason for this is the new perpetual league format that we will be using from now on. In short at the end of each season each team will be given a ranking; these rankings will be used to position teams in leagues in season XII and beyond. We have done this in order to make it easier for new teams to access the league in future seasons (which has been difficult during the league cycles in the past) BUT also to promote those who like to build teams over a number of seasons.
With this new structure also brings the permanent reincarnation of the league cup, which will allow lower ranked teams the opportunity to have a pop at the big boys. Hopefully there will be many giant killings in the future, both metaphorical and literal.

The majority of these changes will become more prominent in season XII but the seeds need to be sown in Season XI to get the ball rolling.
So back to Season XI, exact league structure will depend on numbers but the intention is to run 1 or 2 leagues and give you the chance to play as many coaches as possible, especially fun with a 1,000,000 Gold Team. League should last between 10-12 weeks, with the cup running alongside the league structures. Game weeks continue to run from Monday to Sunday. An updated house rules pack will be posted soon with a revised pre-match events table for all.

Important Dates:
Please declare your intention to participate in the league by Midnight Bank Holiday Monday 25th August. This can be done by visiting us at http://www.hebbl.co.uk and registering your interest on the forum.
The final league structure will be announced on Tuesday 26th with the draw for both league (if needed) and cup taking place at the club that evening.
Final Teamsheets of your Million Gold rated team and team names will need to be submitted by Midnight Friday 29th August with Game Week 1 starting on September 1st.
Any questions let us know, but now time to get excited about a game that won't wreak too much havoc in your wallet.

So if you live in the Essex, Hertfordshire or surrounding areas LET'S PLAY BLOODBOWL!!!
