Hi everyone,
With the release of the new box set, I thought now would be good time to let any new (or returning) BB players know about the Waterbowl, Manchester's Blood Bowl league. New people are always more than welcome, even if you're a total beginner just looking to learn the ropes!
Although we don't have a regular meet-up, we organise most stuff on our facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/waterbowlmcr or our forum: http://www.waterbowl.freeforums.org
We usually play games at either the Element Games NWGC in Stockport, the SMGH in Salford or various venues around the Manchester city centre.
The new Premier League season will be starting in January. You start with a brand new TV100 "rookie" team, and play a game every 2 weeks. We also have a more informal, open league called the Vets League, where any team can be used, not just new ones. There are no scheduled games, you just play as many or as few as you want. This league is perfect for newer players or those who can't commit to playing a game every two weeks but just want to play casually.
We're having a meet up evening for any new players interested in joining (or just playing a friendly game) on Thursday December 15th at NWGC Stockport. Just turn up any time after 6pm and look for the people moaning about the double skulls they've rolled. Don't worry if you haven't got a team painted up, (or even a team at all - there will be plenty of people happy to lend you one).
If you have any questions feel free to contact either me or the League Commissioner Alex, who goes by Leipziger on here (that's him in the fetching blonde Abba wig).

Currently I'm in work but I'll be checking out the facebook page on my break. Couple of questions while I'm here though.
How long will you be playing the league for? (I have a full house to redecorate which I worry will eat a good couple of weeks of my life)
What time do you usually play from and is there a particular day you play? I work 8am-6pm shifts but I can always try to align my rest day every two weeks.

Format to be fully fleshed out when I know numbers, but it'll be 2 weeks per round. There'll either be one division or 2(+) smaller ones. That'll also help determine league length. I'd imagine it'lol run until April/May depending on number of coaches.
Venues/dates will be flexible so coaches have more flexibility but we'll have some league nights scheduled per month at Element Games. Night tbc. If you're free in the evenings/some weekend days,, I'd imagine you'll be golden for availability:)

I've spoken to EG and the games night will be on Tuesday 24th, as they close early on a Monday. 7pm start, but I'll be around from a bit earlier i imagine. If you would like to be in the league then I could do with knowing by the end of 22/1/17 so I can sort out the format/fixtures etc.
