NAF Website Feedback thread

Post by sann0638 »

I don't think a thread like this exists yet, so happy to make one. I'm hanging around the NAF doing bits and bobs, one of the bobs being maintenance of the game database, and one of the bits being looking after thenaf.net - this is for the latter.

I've done my best (not being a website professional) to get as much useful stuff as possible onto the website, but am aware that some people find it difficult to navigate, or find stuff, or whatever, so if anyone has specific constructive criticism I'm happy to try and fix it, and if anyone is a wordpress whizz then I'm happy to work with anyone who is happy to volunteer.

Gninoronh (sp?) has been offering some great feedback on Phil's TD AMA, and this forum thread is the result.

I've just added a Site Map for ease of reference: https://www.thenaf.net/site-map/

Thanks for this Mike.

1) I noticed this:
https://www.thenaf.net/resources/playbooks/
links to this (the page that started this discussion)
https://www.thenaf.net/blood-bowl/rules/

Which both doesn't seem to be on the site map and predates BB16 and could be rephrased to reflect the new era.

2) same page is there a link there to Twelfman's series of articles on under utilized skills? I read that last night and could have sworn it was on the NAF page.

3) On the resources page we may want to consider a link to the Boardgame geek rules summary that crossreferences BB16/DZ1/DZ2 and CRP which is quite nice as it's edition agnostic. I'll see if I can find a link downstream.

4) this page could get the axe I would think at this point.

Cool:

1) have updated the wording
2) here's a list of all posts ever! Will play with formatting when I have more time: https://www.thenaf.net/the-naf/media/posts/ Do Ctrl-F and "skills"
3) if it's good, yep!
4) have archived it

Ta.

Mike

Thanks man,

Wow that's a lot of pages. I guess because WordPress is designed to run a blog? So it just keeps spitting out new pages. Almost wonder if some of that would be better directed to the forum in the future?

Here's the thread with the reference
https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/172211 ... ence-guide

Page 7 is what our league finds most helpful.

It's a list of posts, rather than pages - thenaf.net is meant to be a news source (so a blog) as well as a static reference (the pages). It's working as intended, honest! :)

Links to the forum don't work great.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Was looking at the league page which is a bit of a mess at the moment, I'm happy to help try tidy up the drug listings in there and can spare some time to keep an eye over it regularly if that helps.

But was thinking, is it possible to make league submissions from inside the members area, of course this could be detrimental in having non NAF members not being able to submit a league, it would stop the spam immediately.

If I can't link to NAF forums then I can paste stuff into a Google doc ;)
