Re: Anything But a One! Podcast
They're not that scary in stunty because claw and strength 4 don't matter so much. That extra strength, especially combined with Claw and MB, will make mincemeat of most CRP teams. Leaping into cages on 2+s too... Poor old lizardmen don't stand a chance! Orcs will fold like so much thin cheese, and even Dwarves will get torn apart, particularly at lowish TV when they don't have any guard.Bakunin wrote: Dont get why you guys are afraid of the squig herders. They are not OP in stunty leeg, and in CRP, they would mostly fall apart, with a few lucky shots.
They probably won't win much games, but still... jeez.
Saying that, I'll try to get a game in against the stunty roster, see if this all stands up to theory. I'll report back!

Yea, they can leap in on a 2+,2+,2+ - and they need a player next to them, when you start your action (really stupid) and a player where you end your action (blood lust).. In theory they may be whatever, but they are not OP in anyway. But if I was gonna put them in with CRP teams, I would remove Jugger and MB(or claw) at 80kTrumpkin wrote:They're not that scary in stunty because claw and strength 4 don't matter so much. ps. Blood Lust is really bad when all you can bite has 'stunty'. Bite has a bigger chance of taking your player off the pitch, than staying.

Re: Anything But a One! Podcast
Enjoying the podcast so far (halfway through) but I have some serious doubts about the wisdom of all this Bretonnian passing talk. That quite goes against anything sensible (!) I've heard about Blood Bowl so far. Passing is a plan B at best. For AG3 teams not even that. Putting passing related skills on your players seems like a bad idea.
I have ZERO experience with Bretonnians but putting Guard on Wrestle players seems like a very suboptimal move but then again the Yeomen (Jeehoomen!) are the only ones with S acces so it's probably a necessary evil.
Apes, not monkeys
Also no mention of 3DB?
Keep going, you're fun to listen to.

I agree, they're going to rip themselves apart, but they're also going to do a massive amount of damage at the same time. And you admit! You'd have to change the roster to make it more fair!Bakunin wrote: Yea, they can leap in on a 2+,2+,2+ - and they need a player next to them, when you start your action (really stupid) and a player where you end your action (blood lust).. In the same way that agi2 can dodge in a pinch, agi3 can handle the ball if need be. Do not fear the passing play! With lots of tasty passing access as well, Brets do it better than any other agi3 team (bar pact). Agi3 can play a respectable ball game, you just have to believe.
When it's guard on a wrestler or nothing, you take the guard on the wrestler! Also, they work surprisingly well. Would you take a both down knowing you'd be wrestled just to get rid of a guarder? Hmm hmm hmm..!Baduk wrote:I have ZERO experience with Bretonnians but putting Guard on Wrestle players seems like a very suboptimal move but then again the Yeomen (Jeehoomen!) are the only ones with S acces so it's probably a necessary evil.

3DB pioneered and pushed the Apes, as far as I know. Looking forward to the most recent episode, I've heard it's excellent!Trumpkin wrote:Just realised I didn't know what you meant by this! Nuts! I hope any future bret opponent I encounter has picked passing skills.Trumpkin wrote:[...]Agi3 can play a respectable ball game, you just have to believe.
Fair enough. And yes, with quite a lot of teams I would but still a good point.Trumpik wrote:When it's guard on a wrestler or nothing, you take the guard on the wrestler! 3 podcast to listen to now though. I thought (some of) you had a family. Where did you find the time these weeks??
