BB2020 and the wizard

I haven't seen any reference to the change regarding when the wizard can cast his spells. Both the fireball and zap! must be now casted at the start of any of the opposition's team turns, before any player is activated, or immediately after any of the opposition's team turn has ended. Before it was at the beginning or end of your own turno.

his change is big because the Fireball Knocks Down players of the active team and, hence, if succesfully casted at the begining of your opponent's turn, makes your opponent lose the turn without having the chance of doing anything. Zap! on the other hand does not cause a turnover because the player is not knocked down, even if he was in possesion of the ball.

Ya. Just reread the fireball and turnover list. It certainly appears that you cast your fireball at the start of the opposition team turn and, on a 4+, players are Knocked Down.
An active team player being Knocked Down is the second item on the list of Turnovers.

Instant Turnover seems to be a little OP.

Wouldn't you need that instant turnover to make the wizard effective if you have to cast at the start of your opponents turn?

Otherwise they will be able to re-organise, the big part of the wizard, for me at least, is being able to get a path to the ball and recover in your turn before your opponent can react.

But you can still cast it at the end of the opposing turn? So effectively (or intentionally?) the same as the start of your own turn?

Doesn't this make wizards potential game changers at every turn?

Well, wizards that can cast fireball/lightning bolt at any rate.

It might be worth keeping the Warhammer community FAQ site in your bookmarks. It's part of the latest FAQ updates here: https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp- ... KG5hCE.pdf

Yes, they've added errata about the wizard

it's no longer a turnover machine.

Note that it hasn't been officially changed for all Death Zone wizards spells.

PS : I have to add it's clear, according to me, that this change should apply to all other spells abble to cause a TurnOver but I fear some coachs could argue that last FAQ only speaks about fireball spell while it has been published after Death Zone
