avatar problem

Post by lawquoter »

I know it's 80 x 80 and fits into other parameters, and I know it works on other sites but when I try to update I get a blank screen and my browser says its done loading. Obviously not correct. Any ideas?

I think there is also a 4kb (6kb??) limit. Maybe it's too large

I switched back to my 'old' avatar and since then, it's just been a red x .

maybe the recent site updates have something to do with it? :-?

no, it's not too large, though that 's what I thought until I uploaded it to a few other sites with the same parameters.

I have the same problem. I followed all the rules for the size, dimensions, and format.

It could be a premissions thing. Some of the accounts might not have the avatar feature enabled. Check yer account and see. If yer not sure, contact the admins and ask them to check your TBB account to see if you are allowed to have an avatar.

Yeah, pass it to a Admin - that's an ADMIN, no us lowly mods. ;)

Or just host it elsewhere and link to it.

Johnny hasn't replied to the PM I sent him a couple of weeks ago, so you might have to wait for some time I'm afraid...

I guess you can add me to the list of people who've lost their avatar because they tried to change it.

To add a little more detail. After selecting my new avatar and clicking submit the page opened up to a blank page and then when I returned to the profile page I now had a shiney new red X box instead of my chosen image.

I fixed it by changing the settings to link to an off site image rather than uploading it
