Galak - All domain names are free to get. I can get pepsi.com or iamnotpepsi.com or ilovegamesworkshop.com or anything I want. It is completely LEGAL. domain names have NOTHING to do with copyright.

and yes talkfantasyfootball.org is horrible:)

I think talkbb.org is even available without needing a dash in it.

Will the TBB accounts be replicated in TFF?

The migration could be a nice irony.... moving many core BloodBowl fans onto a site which is setup to discuss other games.

Grum - .org is the right TLD for this sort of site though - its a not for profit organisation. .com really ought to be for commercial entities.

Longer domain names? Well I don't think its a big issue. How many times do you actually need to type the whole thing? Once per browser nowadays...

Finally - the rules for challenging ownership of domain names mean that if you have a domain name containing copyright/trademark of someone else that you would very probably lose the challenge and the "rightful" owner be given the domain registration. This is different to how it worked 10-15 years ago when people made lots of money by registering domains early.

The reason nothing is up on the tff site yet is that the plan is to migrate TBB - as is - with all the users, posts etc - and then get it up and running. Once that's done then I'll worry about the upgrades.

For me it felt that getting a PHPBB forum up first would run a greater risk of the migration failing or causing problems.

AV Reputed to be high, but said to contain a vunerable point similar to Achilles' Heel. Can be brought down by the new skill Corporate Tw@.

New Skill: Corporate Tw@. Large corporations often seem to be gathering points for people and ideas which the rest of the world deem to be stupid. Refer to HGTG for an excellent way to dispose of all telephone sanitisers, etc. These stupid ideas, generated by overpaid numpties in the above corporations, often meet with rave reviews from a$$-kissers in middle management. The combination of the a$$-kissers and the stupid ideas has been soundly proven to be detrimental in the long run to the profit margins of such companies, but, given the short-natured vision of many policy managers, is deemed to be excellent material for their 6-monthly salary review boards.
Any company using the skill Corporate Tw@ will immediately earn 3 point of Smugness, whilst experiencing a sudden pain in both feet, usually from a self-administered shotgun discharge. They also, although they will strenuously deny this one, sound more muffled when they talk. Possibly due to the pedal extremity occupying the space where their tongue used to be.

Who knows?
