Clarification on the term "Pro Elf"

Post by Groo »

I've seem posts that mention Pro Elf teams, does this refer to standard Elf teams, as opposed to High, Dark or Wood Elves? If so, why is the term Pro Elf used?

Reason: ''
If there's no goblins then why do they call it fantasy football?

"Pro Elf" was the name originally given to the roster in the Journal (or the BB Mag, I forget which it debutted in). It was a nod to the fluff in which these were professional Elf BB players that hadn't returned to Uthlan(spelling!).
The "Pro" got dropped at a later date, but many still use it.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

You either get:

"I have an Elf team."

"Oh, what type? There's four of them, you know."

"Just Elves."

"Not Wood, High or Dark?"

"No, just Elves."

"Ah, Pro Elves." *runs*

or:

"I have a Pro Elf team."

"Ah, Pro Elves." *runs*
