Are giant coloured bold characters really necessary in signatures?
It might just be me, but Nuffle Sucks! in huge red letters is starting to get on my nerves and is hard on my eyes to boot.
Just my thoughts, what do others think?

Here we go, more NBA bashing on the way. (would you prefer pink, would that be easier on the eyes?)

I agree. Keep sigs, short sweet and non-intrusive.

I agree too. There is absolutly NO reason to blurt out whatever nonsence in your sig. If anyone is interested they will understand it just as well if it is written in ordinary style.

It appears that people are offended by my Signature.

If that is so, I might be swayed, by good argumentation, to mend my ways...

But I like it this way...

I've been meaning to start this discussion quite a few times lately, thanks to the fact that shaniepoo, Mocaiv and aerofool, the current offenders, are quite active posters and it really is not comfortable to read threads where they've been active.

Additionally I stand behind the comments I made in the thread Deathwing posted.

You have the avatar for the purpose of showing a graphic image of your choice beside your every post. No need to make the text clumsy to read by adding pics to your signatures.

Redfang, please check the comments sent by JohnnyP in the thread that Deathwing linked to. I know he didn't outright ban banners but did definitely take a stance against them. If that's not a good argument then I don't know what is.

the thing i hate in signature files are blank lines... i always wind up thinking the stuff above the lines are still part of the message, it's confusing... really, any signature over three lines is confusing.

Personally I would ban all other BBCode in signatures except links to webpages.

Just to check... is my .sig too long? If so, which bits would you like me to get rid of?

(I don't actually have a problem with the .sigs that you are referring to, but then I always browse this site with Style Sheets turned off since otherwise Netscape falls over. Perhaps this saves my eyesight from the colourful .sigs?)

Cheers,
Martyn

Deathwing I can't read your signature and it hurts my eyes. Why does it need to be so small? Every time you post I get vertigo. Image
