8.30 for registration

Post by lunchmoney »

Standard line in the rules pack.
This massive queue is for coaches to tell the organisers they have arrived, submit a roster and pick up any goodies.
There is usually another queue for the NAF renewals.

I'm sure there should be a way to reduce this queuing (though we Brits do like a queue....).

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.
Bribe level: good coffee.

My impression is that it's the NAF renewal/goodies queue that causes the problem?

A lot of people arrive on the Friday - maybe some of the NAF renewals could be handled before the event?

Last few years I've jumped the queue, sat at the laptop and booked coaches in, so I've not really experienced the queues.
Not the case this year.

So if the issue is the NAF renewal queue, then maybe the bouncers can get that queue to be elsewhere?

This is a good idea. Maybe there can be a spot in the hotel bar on the Friday night that this can be done. Maybe open it for 1-2hrs so the guys can still enjoy the social side of the event?

Yup, I think we can all agree that moving the NAF renewals is a good idea as let’s face it, it’s been a shambles on the first day the last two years.

Would it be an idea to promote an online signup ahead of the NAF - then have an option to collect the NAF gift at the NAF Champs? (or have one of your buddies collect it for you if you can't attend?)

It'd allow renewals to still get the new gift and it'd hopefully speed things up on the day as the NAF staff could just hand out the gifts and tick off the list of coaches who'd already renewed.

The online signup thing would be pretty messy.
Prices for online and live are different and making an option would mean involving IT technical guys (work and/or money).

The friday night sign ups are more viable. I have no problem doing it.
I will take the question to the next NAF committee.

I think the biggest issue I faced was people turning up at 09.45 because games start at 10.00..

if you turn up that late expect big ques and late starts.

Do the organisers and refs a favour and be there at 9.00
