COMMITTEE ANNOUNCEMENT: plans for Malta 2022 and beyond

Dear English Blood Bowl Community
With the Blood Bowl tournament scene re-emerging and Malta 2022 in our sights, the committee has given thought to a way forward for Team England for Eurobowl and EurOpen.
The Team England Charter voted on in 2019 did not account for the unprecedented circumstances of the pandemic. Therefore various specific details do not apply e.g. dates of elections and selection, minimum games etc.
We propose a practical solution as a way forward. This is an attempt to uphold the principles of the Charter as best as possible, when following it to the letter is not viable.
We suggest PeteW remains captain having won a convincing victory in the 2019 election and not yet having had chance to lead the team. Pete has remained very active within the community both online and on tabletop and remains well placed to fulfil the role, we feel.
We propose Pete selects a new Eurobowl team subjectively. We suggest he attempts to uphold the principle of the Charter as best as possible i.e. the soft guidelines outlined in the "Eurobowl Team Selection" section. The Charter is attached as a title thread on this part of the forum.
We propose Pete selects the Eurobowl team by the end of the year. Soon after EB selection is finalised, the TE Committee would select a EurOpen team as happened in 2019.
Selecting new teams for both Eurobowl and EurOpen seems appropriate with so much time having passed and individual availability likely to have changed.
In the coming months the Committee will propose a Charter revision as best suits the changed nature of the community since the pandemic. This is as we look forward to EB 2024 (after NAFWC 2023) and beyond.
