If it's in March there is every chance I can make it. I'm going to be stuck in the UK as of next August as I'm planning to apply for residency and can't travel until the application is completed (could be up to a year). Heading back home to see family and friends before I get nailed to ol' Blighty would be a good plan

You don't have to be good but it helps.
I'd be ordering soon, because you'll need to put some paint on it before the event.
http://www.shadowforge.com.auin their characters have some female Blood Bowl teams, they are a local (in Sydney) manufacturer of miniatures which support this competition and would happily send you miniatures much faster than GWUK will. [/shameless_plug]
As long as you know the basic rules and are happy to lose a lot of games, you'll be fine. Swiss style tournament means that losers play other losers and winners play winners so you quickly reach players of your level.
If you want to ask further questions - go right ahead.

Now that the 2002 Blood Bowl Rules Review is out, are these changes going to be used at Cancon2003. Are we going to use LRB 1.3 or LRB 2.
Lizardmen teams if they have a Kroxigor will get a surprise with the Mighty Blow skill added. Other than that I can't see anything that would effect players much.
Just thought I'd ask. Looking forward to the tournament.

Cancon 2003 Ruleset
We will be using the LRB 2.0 ruleset.
So yes, the changes from this year's review will be added.
You can get the complete 2 pages of house rules for the tournament from the link on http://www.geocities.com/blood-bowl
