Book Launch

Chapter 15 is up and online! http://www.feudball.com/sample/index.htm

On the 24th of July, Feudball had their book launch at Burwood RSL club, Sydney. It was well attended and both authors were busy signing! Next time we might choose beer instead of champagne!

To celebrate the book launch, Chapter 15 is now online, completing the chapters that will be put on the website for preview. To read the rest of the story, please support us and buy a copy. Then, once you've read it, pass it to your friends to read! If you all split the costs equally the book is not expensive at all (as I've said, split it amongst 5 other friends, and it's less than AUD$4 a copy!).

Our stockists now include:

* Good Games (Gosford)
* Mind Games (Canberra and Albury)
* Impact Miniatures http://www.impactminiatures.com/index.p ... on=gamemat
* Shadowforge stalls (not currently available online)

That said, we are still looking for a European stockist. There are a number of discussions still being had with good book stores.

Reader Feedback

"Better than the in flight-entertainment" - D. Codling

"I'm up to chapter 14 and am really enjoying it so far." B. Vanzino

"Love the book, just finished it. Few errors missed in editing, but I can forgive you for that. Top job Babs/Vimes." P. Arentsen

"Damn you. I went and read the first 14 chapters and will now have to finish it.... I'm enjoying it a lot. It is a nice light read that is 'hard to put down'." C. Hanes

I'll add my reader view too.

I'm about 30 pages from the end and it has been a great book to read, found every night i'd find some excuse to keep reading another few pages.

Very well written and glad you guys got it published. well recommended by me if people are on the fence to buy it. :P

Having now sold around 115 copies of the novel, I am looking to expand the places where the book can be sold.

I am particularly interested in stockists for the UK / Europe.

The ideal stockist would be a chain of gaming stores throughout Europe that also sell other Fantasy Football gaming supplies.

Any suggestions of who I should ask?

(Impact miniatures is already a stockist).

Depending on who can import it... I mean, does the book have an ISBN ?
You could look for bookstores etc. that do "English".

I work at a bookstore in Holland, it's a chain: Selexyz it's called. We're quite big over here :).

... I'll PM you for info. Maybe I can do something here.

OK. Now the Feudball novels have sold very well in Australia (Thanks guys) and we have sold over 120 copies to date, however we still need to sell lots more for a sequel.

(I've had no-one yet who has read the books say they thought it was anything less than 'great' - I'm prepared to offer a money back guarantee on the novel that if it isn't the best Fantasy Football novel they've ever read then they post it back to me and I refund your money.)

However, the big issue is that I've only had around 20 international sales. I'd like to solve that issue two ways:
1. Contact individual leagues and ask the commissioner if he'd be prepared to rustle up a couple of Dollars/Euros/Pounds/Rubles/whatever per person and go in and buy one copy to share and pass around the league.
Is there a list somewhere of commissioner's email addy's or PM's? (My first plan of attach was NAF)

2. Get the novels into distributors of other gaming merchandise, such as Shadowforge or Impact Miniatures merchandise, particularly interested in dealing with chains of several stores, unless there are large leagues attached to a single store.

Any suggestions / thoughts / advice?

As one of the Internationals the book is well worth the postage cost.

Just read Feudball on my amazon kindle; here is the review I posted to amazon:

If you like Blood bowl, this book does an excellent job of catching that flavor in a novel. The protagonist goes on a round about journey to finally get onto a real "feudball" team. The first half of the novel is a bit slow, but picks up well in the second half. Excellent descriptions of the game being played and decent character development. The ending is really good and there are a few unexpected twists. It is not a everything goes right for the protagonists after an initial failure. There are plenty of ups and downs and surprises. A far more "realistic" take on fantasy football than I have read anywhere else by any other author. This book was real enough to allow me to suspend my disbelieving instead of just playing along with a cartoon caricature of a fantasy world.

If you have played blood bowl you will definitely catch a lot of the references to the game and how they play out on a feudball pitch.

Would it not be an idea to push it on social media, particularly FB as that's where the newcomers to the community ( with the recent release) seem to hang out? Maybe have a FB page or post chapter links on existing group pages?

Bet loads of coaches who are new to the FF scene don't know this novel exists, and there is often talk about the MF novels..... Usually not very complimentary unfortunately

UK distribution? The only suggestions I could give are Chaos publishing, I can give you some contact details if you wish, or PM Canteloup on here, it's his company ( altho he's in hospital at present) or Mongoose publishing which is based in Swindon, I believe they distribute.

Vested interest, I'm still waiting for the sequel!! :D

The key point here is that Feudball has been re-edited to catch the typos and grammatical errors that slipped through the first edition.

As a shift in publication/print, it has been re-released as a download from Amazon. Until last month, only excerpts were in a digital format - the book was a traditional softcover.
