X. Dungeon Bowl - Pre-Tourney Report 2013

Bob: Hello out there! We will bring you the annual Pre-tourney presentation a bit further, than the years before, to get you in the right mood for the anniversary. Here with me is also Jim Johnson!

Jim: Thank you Bob. With more than 5 weeks to go, we are looking forward to the 10th Dungeon Bowl in Germany.

Bob: Uh, 10 years?! That's a while - nothing in comparison with the life exspectation of an ogre, or the ever(un)living vampires, but...

Jim: Yeah. If you also think of the numbers of all the casualties caused in each year... wide oceans filled with that blood!

Bob: Jim! Stay calm...

Jim: Ok. Up to 90 coaches have been interested to take their team to the pitch; the first rosters confirm, that there will be a wide variety of teams. And this year the best of each race will be awarded.

Bob: I'm very excited about this event; one of the four majors, held at the catacombs of the castle Drakenburg, a wild mixture of "experience" is expected; legendary coaches like "Powder_Monkey" with at least 5 Wooden Spoons over the last years and also NAF top ranked player "Joemanji".

Jim: And we are looking forward to see the majority of the Dungeon Bowl champions of the last 9 years; coaches like "Flix", "Kwék", "Banelord" and "Oventa".

Bob: I'm certain that they will play their role in this great Blood Bowl event, as well as all the Runner Ups and teams that didn't make it to a final in years.

Jim: We are all looking forward to it! So stay tuned, till the next time.

Jim: Good morning everyone! A short night for my tastes, but with round 4 underway, we are looking for the final three games of this tourney.

Bob: On Table -1- the ORC FIVE STARS will face the ARROGANZELFEN; both teams have performed well; with the KJOLESKABS HAMBURG and the LUCHARDORES LAGARTO right on their heels, they are undefeated till now.

FINAL REPORT X. DUNGEON BOWL 2013

Jim: Hello Blood Bowl fans! Welcome to the final of the tenth Dungeon Bowl in 2513. Round 6 and we will see two top ranked Wood Elf teams in the contest. Both teams performed well so far and are tournament leaders in Touchdowns, too.

Bob: Fast, agile and TD hungry - and the final will be decided by only one TD. I think, we can expect a very fast and athletic final game. Our two reporters Micha and Holger are with us tonight with more details and the final game itself. Hello Micha and Holger!

Micha & Holger: Hello Jim, hello Bob.

Holger: Both teams performed very well so far. We will first take a look at the ARROGANZELFEN; coached by the infamous ¨Oventas¨.

Micha: Yes, he managed to win VII. Dungeon Bowl, with a dwarf(?!?) team; the DODGY DWARVES.

Holger: So its only a few years ago, that he played also in the Dungeon itslef; could this be a advantage?

Micha: I don't think so. With so many varities in Set Up, the hidden ball, or teleporter pads, not at least talking about an experienced coach on the other hand, I think this will be a close one. But ¨Oventas¨ will be the fan favourite for sure.

Holger: In the long history of the Dungeon Bowl only coach ¨Floridaboy¨ managed to win the title twice. And he, as also long time final participant ¨Flix¨ are not present to interfere.

Micha: So both teams are highly motivated and got some very experienced players in their Line-Up.

Micha: After the intro from the referee, both teams make themselves ready for the start. The ARROGANZELFEN won the coin toss andd decide to go first. Their starting six are:
1 Treeman, 2 Wardancers, 1 Thrower and 2 Lineman.

Holger: The LOREN HAWKS choose to set up:
1 Thrower, 1 Catcher, 2 Wardancers and 2 Lineman.

Micha: The whistle is blown and the game is on; the ARROGANZELFEN (AE) bring in one Lineman from the bench, teleporting him to pad number II. The Starting six are moving up to ooccupy the chests in their half of the Dungeon. Opening up one of the chest, the following explosion brings one Lineman down, but did not harm him.

Holger: The LOREN HAWKS (LH) also bring in one of their substitutes from the Reservebox. Heading straight for the first chest in his way... The explosion knocks him down and Stunned him.

Micha: Teleporting to pad IV, the AE spread further and claim right now the half the pitch. Another Lineman moves up to explore the exploding contain of the next chest; but nothing further happens to him.

Holger: Through the Warp comes the Treeman of the LH; also teleports to pad II, right in front of the Endzone of the AE. The rest of the team starts to move up and stop the AE to dominate their part of the Dungeon.

Micha: The AE chooses next a Catcher and teleports him to pad I. Nearly every teleporter pad is now occupied by an elf. Coach ¨Oventas¨ wants to see a Hand-off, but the fourth chest also brings one of his players down and Stunned him.

Holger: An explosive game so far. Another lineman teleports to... Pad II. It seems, that the LH have bribed the daemon controlling the warptunnels. Carefully opening the fifth chest, holding his breath... And breathing a sigh of relief, as not an explosion, but the ball finally shows up! The LH have the ball and forming up an cage, they move up to the opposing Endzone. But the willl not wait for the AE to attack first; they Blitz! one of the opposition and have to try it even harder to be successfull and teleport him to pad IV.

Micha: Now the defense of the AE has to stop the LH from gaining more ground, but also get the ball fast. Another Catcher is in the game, coming up at pad III. The fight for the middle lane has begun; the bridge over the steaming lava is fought hard and with a Blitz! the can KO one of the LH Catchers.

Holger: From the Reserves the LH bringing in one of their Lineman, he comes up at pad IV. Only pushing back one of the AE Wardancers, the LH try another way to get to their goal. Using the right handd bridge, they move up. Their Treeman Blitzes! the AE Lineman knocks him down; but the branches only scratch the soft skin and not harming the player at all. The ballcarrier is now in contact to one oposing player, lying flat.

Micha: The third Catcher comes in, adding more speed to the defence of the AE. They Blitz! one of the protedting Lineman; but the attacker stumples on the hard and rocky surface, can get his balance back and brings him down. With two players in contact to the ball carrier, the LH have to react fast to keep control of the ball and the game!

Holger: The LH bring in their next player, he shows up at pad VI. Blocking and stunning a Catcher, the LH begin their aggressive offense play and are successful. Handing-Off the ball, it nearly fails, but the Catcher receiving it, can take hold of it, before it falls free.

Micha: With five games so far, it seems to me, that the players are tired and not so concentrated; or have you seen Elfs stumble around like this, before?

Holger: Not very often; but still they are in possession and going even further. Going for it, the ball carrier stops only 6 yards ahead of the Endzone! With only the Treeman and one Lineman left for last defense line, the AE are in real trouble. Lucky for them, that the LH's Treeman takes root, before he can move up and interfere with them.

Micha: I'm not the only one, whos heart is pumping right now; the AE have to be successful and clever right now; all effords are focused to get their players back and stop the ball carrier. Attempting a Blitz!, the Lineman starts his way out of the Endzone, gets in contact with the Catcher, holding the ball, throws everything in, that he has in him and... Brings him down! The ball stumbles free and comes up in his hands. Boy, have you seen this before?

Holger: At least not so dramatically like this. The AE have put a brave Last Stand and be successful till now, but the LH are not beaten; Blitzing! the defending hero, the ball comes free, is picked up and then carried upstairs, sprinting it is carried across the line and it is a... TOOOUUUCHDOWN!!!

Micha: Touchdown LOREN HAWKS! They have won the game and the Dungeon Bowl final! What a game, ups and downs, all effords put in by the defense, a fast and entertaining game.

Holger: Both coaches shake hands, both have been kind and sporting, but there could only be one to be Dungeon Bowl Champion. Back to Jim and Bob.
