Subject changed: New Goblin positionals

Post by Regash »

I decided to add the "new" teams of Slann, Underworld, Chaos Pact, Bretonnian and Khorne to my collection.

Since there are no official teams out there, I'm looking for ideas for Minitaures.

Slann
No problem, I'll wait for the campaign of J_Bones awesome frogs that you can see in this thread.

Bretonnian
Someone displayed his team made from a Bretonnian Batalion. I probably will steal the idea. Battalion box ordered.

Chaos Pact
  • Marauders: Will use Blood Reavers from AoS.
  • Skaven: A conversion from a Storm Vermin, need more for Underworld anyway
  • Dark Elf: I'm pretty sure I can spare a Dark Elf of any kind from my original GW team
  • Goblin: Not sure about the goblin, maybe one of those I'll have to get for the Underworld team
  • Chaos Troll: ?
  • Chaos Ogre: ?
  • Minotaur: I ordered the one from the spanish Nurgle team that is coming up
Underworld
  • Goblin: Haven't found some cool goblins yet
  • Skaven: More Storm Vermin conversions
  • Warpstone Troll: ?
Daemons of Khorne
  • Lineman: I ordered some Blood Reavers from AoS.
  • Bloodletter: Original GW bloodletters ordered.
  • Beastman: I will probably have to get 2 Gors from ebay or something
  • Bloodthirster: ?
If any of you guys have better ideas than mine or any advice on what to take for my questionmarks, I'll be happy to read about them.

I have the MK1881 "Ares Demons" for my Khorne team:
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/mk18 ... niatures#/
not sure if they're still available though.

One of my leaguemates uses a Hordes "Dire Troll Mauler" as a Warpstone troll:
https://privateerpress.com/hordes/galle ... oll-mauler
It's a gorgeous miniature, although it's quite large. He put it on a smaller base but still needs to use a token when it gets knocked down.

RN Estudio makes a Chaos Pact team:
http://www.rnestudio.com/apps/webstore/ ... ry/1209719
But the pictures are pretty obviously 3d models; they are expensive enough that I'd want to at least see the metal before I'd buy.

Neomics has a ton of goblins; mutants also, plus skaven. All by the same sculptor.
I think they're great!

At the NATC a few years ago they had a Skaven team made up called the Rat Pack and had goblins available if you wanted to run the team as Underworld. 50's gangsters for the Underworld was too cool for me to pass up.
They still had a few available at last year's Chaos Cup and may still have some if you are interested.

Below is a picture of the Rat Pack sans Goblins (don't have pictures of the Goblins but there were two poses and looked great).

For the Brets, I ordered a Brets battalion.
At 20 € cheaper, I couldn't say no and there'll be plenty of bits.

I would so love to use the Mauler but it's way to big!
I used to have one with my trollbloods but gave him away with the rest.
Like I said, WAY to big!

The RN estudio Humans would make incredible knights, that's for sure.
But I already ordered the battalion, so... Nope! ;)

Neomics has a very unique style.
A style I unfortunately don't like, I'm sorry.

And the Idea for the Rat Pack is incredibly funny but I'd like my teams to look like teams.
And I'm so proud of how my Storm Vermin turned out, I'd rather stick with them for Skaven BB minis.

All the Goblins seem to have a Superhero reference and I don't feel like having a "funny" team, really.
I'm more of a "realistic teams" guy... How realistic fantasy football may ever get... :orc:
The only mini I liked from that board game was the troll.

Then I saw a link to skullmini.com. Check out >>> their shop <<<, they have an amazing variety of miniatures, although less likely to be turned into Blood Bowl players.

But not only have they all the goblins on halt while the kickstarter campaign is runnning, no, the troll from the game is also not in their shop.

By the way: Has anyone seen the "Hungry Troll" Snotlings in real life?
The Snots seem to be big enough to go for Goblins. Or are they smaller than they appear on the screen?

Yes, they are. I bought 4 of them for my 2nd edition Orc Team and they turned to be as small as the smallest 2nd edition Snotlings...

On the other hand, the Gob'z Goblins and Troll are too big, at least as it can be seen at this picture:

Yep, that is way to large.

Image

If I was going that large, I'd prefer the Dire Troll Mauler from Hordes.
I just checked their website and they now have warbeasts called Gargantuans, using a 120 mm base!
That's more than 4,7 inches! :o

Doesn't anyone have any ideas for the Bloodthirster and Bloodletters from the Khorne team?

It's probably simplest to use warhammer figures :)

Helldorado has some pretty cool demons:
http://www.miniaturemarket.com/cshd1004.html

1881 has the Ares Demons in their store, but it's more expensive than their indiegogo campaign was:

From their thread:

Most would assume base is 25mm... but it seems they used 30 for (all? some of?) the renders.
