Streetbowl Amsterdam 19-20 November

Post by Princelucianus »

The 4th Streetbowl tourney after Norse left us....

The venue: Puerto Pata Negra
http://www.puertopatanegra.nl/
There's room for 20+ players with an option for the event floor if needed/wanted.

No inducements.

Saturday start at 10:00, hopefully for 6 games.
Sunday start at 11:00, hopefully for 5 games.
One Chess clock for the slowest game if necessary.
It's not Swiss, trying to play as many games as possible....

If we have an uneven number, some players will not play for one round. They will get 1/2 points.
Winners get 1 point, draw 1/2 point. TD/Cas difference as tiebreaker.

The rules:
http://zlurpcast.com/JP/Street_Bowl_Rules_2012.pdf

Rule change.
If you foul a player, it will be spotted. Even if the foul fails.
Throw a rock to the square where the fouling player was standing. A player from the crowd will throw it from behind the endzones. Calculate the range with the throwing template, using AG 3 as the score. Calculate as a normal pass without extra skills.

Picking teams will start on the 13th of September. Those who come from far away pick first. Only two teams of each race may be present.

There's no fee.
Players will/must bring stuff for other players as a prize.
Winner picks first...
I'll put the tourney on the main forum in the coming weeks, so everyone here can secure a spot!

The list with players
Lucy
Niels
von Richten
Gorbad
Vinz
Cern
1/2 Dutch Dave
Nietmasjien
Sirsebstar
Candlejack
Arjan (80%)

Please make sure that you have a pitch.

Cheers
Lucy

No skills. Street Bowl board. There will propably be several people with such a board, and otherwise there is some swapping around required with players sitting on other tables for a round.

I think I have 2, Niels at least 1.
A few have won 1, Richten has a special 1.

Should be okay!

Thank you for a great tournament.
good games, good venue, good gale weather ;-)

Thanks, it was fun and good company plus bar.
Racewise, Amazon were again the winner.
Orks and humans are too unreliable apparently.
Chaosdwarves did as well as dwarves. Norse redeemed themselves once more, but can be crippled if they get 2 bad turns.
Lizardmen can't win it again.

So:
Amazon are too good. Dwarves/Chaosdwarves are pretty good. Lizardmen/Undead have potential to win it.

The rest seems to basically fail, they have their moments, but can't win it.

Well, truth to be told, the Norse didn't really get trashed (unlike Niels' Orcs  ) in any of their matches, but the combination of dice and especially KO's did them in. In that regard, they are a genuine glass cannon (though at a tournament that involves happy hours, there should always be at least one Norse team), but one that packs a mighty punch.

Lizardmen have a frightening defence they can place (one Krox and three Sauri in an alley that is seven squares wide is just worrying), but rely an awful lot on their Skinks. Take them out of the equation, and they can be beaten. Knowing that he kept track, I would like to hear Dr. von Richten on how he fared during the tournament itself and where his draws/ losses occured from.
