Re: How to use Score

Post by mzukerman »

Thanks Sann!

The tournament will be giving out 60/30/10 for win/tie/loss plus 2 pts per td and cas maxed at 4. Plus there will be a one-time theme award of 10 points if they work into something associated with our local geography.

I think the calcs would work out as such:
Win: 60+min(tf*2,8)+min(cf*2,8)
Tie: 30+min(tf*2,8)+min(cf*2,8)
Loss: 10+min(tf*2,8)+min(cf*2,8)
Name Bonus 1: Theme (which would have to be hand entered on the Teams page)

How does that look? Or is there a better way to do it? My goal is to not have to put in bonuses manually on the Teams page and to just have it autocalculated from the match entry form.

Thanks!

Thanks. I'm testing the formulas and they seem to work well. One curious thing though. In presentation mode, it's showing a teams total without the named bonus that I have to manually put into the Teams tab. In other words, I believe it's showing the teams' "Game Score" not "Total Score".

Can you confirm?

Looks like you're right - if you open presentation.ini, and change this row:

results=nr;team;coach;naf;sm;spacer;tf;ta;spacer;cf;ca;

to this:

results=nr;team;coach;naf;st;spacer;tf;ta;spacer;cf;ca;

that should do it. sm is "scores from matches" and st is "total score".

Have started faffing about with Score again, documenting some of the things you can do with it: http://www.sann0638.co.uk/bb/score/

Is there anyway to have a SoS (opponents score) in addition to other tiebreakers?

Yes, but not combined with it I think. As in, you can have it as first or second tiebreaker, but you can't multiply it by net TD or whatever.

Ah, the second was what I was looking for (and that's not to say I'd have used it, just mulling some ideas over).
