We were wondering about using the Allie rules in our new league of 5 teams. Whats the general consensus on these rules, any major pit falls that people have come across?

I don't want to spoil your fun but allies are generally considered to severly unbalance the overall strength&weaknesses every team has.

So far, no ally rules could prove the opposite and most coaches do not miss them at all.

If your league is thinking about houseruling allies, be prepared that most teams will play alike and you'll begin a power-gamers spiral.

There is a reason why every team is lacking something or has different team building cycles...

:o General consensus is that they are broken and should not be used.

I liked the pact-teams, and didn't think them broken, but especially ChaosPact was competing with the best teams.

if you limit to just lineman it would work....allowing allied positionals is when it really falls apart.

And only allowing 1 Big Guy would be another good move.

:o Because AG4 linemen don't make any difference to low AG teams...

They may not unbalance if everyone is covering their weaknesses, but they make the teams less different, which most people agree is less interesting.

Disallow apoth for allied players and Big Guys. Might be balanced then.
