New french mini-league rules

First I apologize for my poor english, both for my post and for my link (made the translation in 2 hours).

I ran 2 mini-turnaments in my school (8 and 10 coachs, each coach playing against each other, so 7 and 9 games), and I want to go for a league, to allow long term teams to be really interesting.

I talked with the others coachs, went a lot on TBB and other websites, and made a little package of new rules. Unfortunaltely, I seem not to have many reply from the others coachs, and I'm afraid to make some very big mistakes. The league should begin monday in 5, so I'm in a hurry (and I'm leaving for the week-end  ).

Whatever, thanks to all who posts interesting thinks on TBB, and here is the animal :

I don't know if I could make big changing until the beginning, but feel free to discuss !

You can PM me if you want the french version, or if you have corrections for my english

On the skills I'm not sure that Perfect Spiral is a good idea, it makes it much easier for Human and Orc teams to complete passes, especially for Orcs with no dedicated catchers.

High Kick may also be a bit harsh on the slow teams, have you considered Plasmoid's alternative of reducing the first turn movement of the recieving team by 2?

Is double Blitz just the Frenzy skill made easier to get for Blitzes only or does it allow a player to Blitz two different opponents? If so it may be very good at breaking cages.

I couldn't really follow the Team Rating stuff, isn't it a bit complex. I know basic TR is not perfect but is this enough of an improvement to warrant the extra time spent calculating it?

OK I think Monkjey said most of what I'm going to say, Your team rating stuff is just too over the top, i THINK FOR THE MOST PART IT IS UNNESSESARY (sorry caps lock) as I've run many leauge and thousands of games and the rating system in the LRB isn't exact but it dosn't need to be either. Your rating system is exact factoring in the quality of the skill rolls and such but like I said just too complex for my taste. Also I'd lose hard tackle, or at least make it only a +1 to the fall down rather than the +2 you have it at now, WE teams are going to be absolutly destroyed by this and I think it will create a glut of slow hard hitting teams in your leauge. Well thats my advice, try to keep things as simple as possible as it will help you attract new coaches and easier on yourself too.S.

@ Munkey

For the high kick and perfect spiral, my idea was to get rid of the same type of thrower : sure hands, pass, accurate, safe throw. I think that with perfect spiral there will be more pass, I think we lack a little in my school. For high kick, I think Plasmoid's version is harsher on slow teams (less mouvement, can't reach ball, opponent leap with blodger, take ball, pray, and scores if he didn't fall).

For double blitz, it is a frenzy on blitz, not the cage breaking version  Will rewrite the description.

@ Blammaham

Someone said on TBB he used hard tackle on his league, and that it was a good skill, not too powerful. But maybe the +2 is indeed a bit bloody.

As for the complex tr calulating, it comes from many of my players who finds it inaccurate. Team rating should represent the real level of the team, and they (we) have this comments towards the current tr :
1 money makes the most part of the tr, spp is not enough important
2 having well placed spp (exemple 5 players with 6 spp) has the same tr as having bad placed spp (exemple 2 with 15)
3 luck or strategy should impact on tr

For the complexity, it really is not a problem, we're 20 to 24 (age), and all computer scientist, so the accuracy of the system is more important. Maybe I will drop the coach rating, as it is the really complex thing.

I have really NO experience with high tr slow bashy teams, and I want to avoid this kind of play, and also the one-turn-scoring play. Do you have ideas of skills to avoid this ?
