Our 3 Tier Handicap System

Hi all,
before inducements, there was talk of the tiered handicap system.
My league loved the idea, so we created our own, ready for use when our new season starts july 30th.

See the table at:
http://www.clbbbl.dk/html/league05/handi_tornament.htm

as you can see, the table means that the underdog may gain the aid of a star player. Each team has 2 available, one wirth 20pts, and one worth 40pts. To make them reasonably balanced, we designed them using these rules:
*A 20 point star based on a 100K- position gets 3 skills/traits + 1 stat.
*A 20 point star based on a 110K+ position gets 2 skills/traits + 1 (AG/ST)stat.
*A 40 point star based on a 100K- position gets 3 skills/traits + 2 stats.
*A 40 point star based on a 110K+ position gets 2 skills/traits + 2 (good)stats.

Our stars can be seen here:

Cheers
Martin :)

I like your tables. We have also a 3-tier-Handicap table and I think I will incorporate some of your ideas into ours. After playtesting (actually 120 matches cross-race & cross-TR) I get the impression that it's hardest to balance the strongest table: you need results that are worth 50TR difference without being no-brainers that cripple the stronger team. We have 10/25/50 steps, lowering them a bit and tweaking will do the issue I guess.

I don't like inducements that give you full difference in value and which give you automatically free players as coaches tend to to silly things with them, normaly not done by players you care for...
