Line Vamps

Vampires come in all shapes and sizes, and from all races...
So why don't they play bloodbowl !?

We are considering offering 1 vampiric lineman/chick/critter to each team.
They would be +1 St, +1Ag, Stab, gaze, Str and Ag access
Cost *2 + 20K Blood Frenzy (from the vault).
The obvious exception is the undead type teams.

might be a bit overpowered, huh ?

why over powered?

every team can get ONE except undead types...
and a human one would be
6 4 4 8 Stab, gaze, Blood Frenzy, Str and Ag access 120k
a Dwarf one would be
4 4 4 9 Stab, gaze, Blood Frenzy, Block, Tackle, ThickSkull, Str and Ag access 160k
and a halfing one would be
5 3 4 6 Stab, gaze, Blood Frenzy, Dodge, Rightstuff, Stunty, Str and Ag access 80k

Hmmm... duff, did you mean 'ST, AG and Gen skill access'

why overpowered ? because as you underlined, it can generate a ST3 AG4 stunty, for example, for a ridiculous fee, considering how stunty teams usually are full of money anyway... plus other problems of balance, such as having a ST5 AG2 saurus carrier :)

Actually the skinks would be the linemen. Not to mention the one i consider the sickest would be a welf lineman.

I meant add str and ag if they didn't already exist

The balance should come from the cas infliced on the vamp's own team. The better the vamp, the more expensive the linefodder for them to eat...

The 80K stuntie is still av6 with +1 on injury, so thats easly killed money

The welf one is a bit sick, but will thin out the lineelves very effectivly (2.6 per game on average).

The Dwarf one would be one of the few ways to kill dwarfs.

The worry to me is the chaos dwarf Hob vamp - other hobs to feed on and lots of quality hitters to protect the greatest ball handler on the team.

however... because of bloodfrenzy, the Choas dwarf coach would put a bit more hobs on the field, which means less dwarves...

and if they dont... 6 dwarves, 2 BC, one mino, one VampHob, leaves only one other hob (or 2 if no mino) on the field...
As the opponent if you smash that (those) hob/s off, then the Vamp hob is chowing down on his dwarves... not my ideal situation... especialy when combine with the knowedge that Hobs generally have the most SPP's due to scoring... because of that i wouldn't by a vamp for an experienced chaos dwarf team, and if you get one for a new team, then the vamp hob will 'suck' all the SPP in the team, and it still only has Av7, costing 100k.

I guess it's kinda appropriate that a vamp will suck the life out of a team in the long run... in balence to the short term gain of scoring more.

So what would be done to the undead teams to keep them balanced without having a free vamp?

Ooohhhh I dunno,
if after testing you really needed to give them somthing, you could make the necromancer an on pitch figure - say 6 3 3 8 General skills only. regen. Special rules - dosn't count toward team rating, always recovers fully before next game.
