Have anyone taken a serious take on Allies rules?

I would want to implement this in my league, but the old official rules where made while rosters was quite different from now. I would want the rules to even out the teams if that is possible.

In my opinion one of the highlights of the 2nd edition ruleset was the allied/mixed race teams.

I understand why teams these days are homogenous. It allows a more linear progression tree.

There are a few options available - Underworld rosters allow Goblins and Skaven. And if you want to allow it there is a Tilean roster available which allows the "good" races to be mixed race. Also, if your league allows Star Players these could potentially be a different race than the primary race of your team.

But I agree with you. I would love to see more options for mixed race teams within the current LRB structure.

Pretty easy I think :

Make a list of allowed allies for each race (so obviously not DEs on HE teams etc). Then say you can take 0-1 of those but they gain Loner and Animosity. Linemen only too I guess.

Sorted.

That should work. When you get to the positionals is the issue. Also really try to avoid putting AG 4 players on teams with 4 or more ST 4 players.

How about

0-16 Dwarf blocker
0-2 Pro Elf Blitzers
0-4 Human Catchers
0-2 Elf Throwers

yeah you got ag4 passer and plenty of strength access but your catchers are ag3 and your st access is all ma4 ag2. Would be interesting to try anyway

0-16 Dwarf blocker
0-2 Pro Elf Blitzers
0-4 Human Catchers
0-2 Elf Throwers
0-1 Ogre
0-2 Flings xD

All the joys of the Old World with added TTM FUN!!!!!

Back in 3E, A friend of mine and I had a league where we had wide-open mixed-race teams (a la First Ed). I think you were allowed half of a team roster's worth of any player on a mixed team (e.g., one Witch Elf, one thrower of any given race, etc.). It was a ton of fun, but there wasn't nearly as much strategy as with traditional teams. It was much more about tactics, and the teams had little variety. We made up for it with a rich free-agency system, drafts between (short) seasons, farm teams, and other cool stuff. Ultimately, though, the teams all ended up being pretty much the same--it was much more about the individual players than the teams.

Not the Blood Bowl we know and love, but player development was exciting and single-race teams were able to hold their own.

I guess that wouldn't really count as a "serious" take, would it?
