G'day Folks,
Here's a link to an alternate rules set my gaming groups have successfully used for several years now, Blitz Bowl. It's a slightly shortened version of BB, rules changes are minor, and it takes only an hour or so for each game.

We use these rules when time is short, or to introduce a new player to the tactics of BB without the logistics of handling a full team. They're really easy to learn, play smoothly, and have been THOROUGHLY playtested over several years by dozens of coaches in dozens of tournaments in several different cities. Have a look, play a game or two, and let me know what you think.

DISCLAIMER: I dislike people trying to come up with new rules for BB as much as the next man - Blitz Bowl really comes in handy when time is running short, that's what it was designed for, that's what we use it for.

Hey Guff. Just had a read through, looks pretty cool! Doubt if I'll find time to give it a go just yet though, but it's nice work.

I'm amazed that money isn't overboard...

especially with a 10 man team limit... and 7 minimum...

but hey...
if we ever find time between 'real' tournament games i can see a few in our league having a spin with it...

So yes, the reason the game was created is the reason it's unlikly it'll be played... lack of time.
