BBRC
I'm just interested, but what are the BBRC member's history in BB? Obviously JJ's and Andy's are well known, but as a relative newcomer to the BB forums I just wondered what Babs, Chets, et als, historys are.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

TH Lapin's goal for the first 7 issues of House Rulez was to interview all the BBRC members.
Issue 1 was Milo
Issue 2 was JKL (Neo)
Issue 3 was Andy Hall
that leaves Chet, Dean, Babs, and JJ (all of who I wish will be good sports and come up the table for their turns).
Okay more can be filled in but I'll cough up what I know.
JJ created BB in 1986. Andy Hall is his right hand man at GW ... moving on.
Milo was one of the original BB webmaster. Long time webmaster of both www.thenaf.net and the Spyke Magazine fanzine site. Milo used to be the forum master of the largest of all BB discussions groups (the group that is now the bbowl group at yahoogroups). JJ used to even show up from time to time on Milo's discussion group. Milo had two online chat sessions that he was able to convince both JJ and Andy Hall to show up for and chat on-line with use when BB Mag #1 came out. A few years back, Milo WAS THE webmaster of BB. His resources used to the way to discuss BB with the folks that controlled the fates of the game. He was the ultimate gatekeeper of BB and because of this knew the game very well. Due to family and work issues, bloodbowl.net in its old form died and the discussion group moved to yahoogroups where it has pretty much been replaced by this forum over the years, so its understandable that some folks may not have heard of him now. Milo is from the United States.
Babs was a long standing member of the old discussion group. He also brought to the game a view point of the game from the land down under (Australia). Almost all the BBRC members are commishes of very long running table top leagues. Babs website is http://www.geocities.com/blood-bowl/ . Babs was a very frequent poster to the old bloodbowl discussion group.
Next stop Dean ... now of all the BBRC members ... I know the least about Dean ... I'm actually looking forward to the House Rulez interview about him. What I do know about Dean is that when the BBRC members where picked he was basically in charge of the OBERWALD. Which was one of the most used sources for understanding Blood Bowl. So its not surprising JJ included him in the mix as he was looking for coaches to give him rules guidance ... who better than the guy writing the "book" on them at the time. Zombie and Bevan from this site now run the OBERWALD.
Dean is from Canada.
Finally ... Chet and JKL ... okay these two guys are both members of very very long running tabletop leagues. Two of the most vocal members of the old Blood Bowl discussion group. These guys have always stayed in contact with the BB public the most of the 7 members ... even before there WAS a BBRC. Chet and JKL are both from the US. The nice thing they bring to the BBRC is that they almost NEVER agree (think Zombie and me without the nasty comments in the interchange). Because of this you can almost always count on something have gotten argued from both sides. JKL's league is: http://www.oldboysleague.com/obl/ and Chet's league is: http://www22.brinkster.com/angelli/bloo ... efault.asp
Basically in 2000 when the BBRC was formed these guys were the 7 of the oldest and most active in BB in some form members of the old Blood Bowl discussion group. So the members of the BBRC have to do with timing. JJ also picked members who appeared to normally discuss rather than flame. These 7 were the biggest names on the web for BB that also were the best discussers on the web at the time.
My opinion ... when the BBRC was formed ... I agree that these 7 were the best men for the job. I have zero doubt about that fact.
