I like that big guy - position player trade.
Still I don't think all teams should get acces to a BG.
If a team trades strong players for a BG does it make the team stronger or does it stay somewhat the same. You get a good player, that doesn't allways do his (it's ??) job (trait) and need one more lino to fill up your roster than you normally would.
Dark / High elves, dwarves and Amazon's just don't feel very right using BG's imho.
Give dwarves some (2??) Secret weapons to compensate for example.
Secret weapons have the same problem btw.
I don't really see a Hing or Wood elf walk onto the pitch with something unfair as a weapon!!!
I think this difference in BG and Weapon approach is half of the fun and most of the fluff of the team difference.
I hope I made it clear that I DO like the trade - em system. (Why no Minotaur for Norse, they got pretty Chaotic in Warhammer ??)

And that is exactly the point I tried to make when posting this thread!Thadrin wrote:This is the point I've been trying to make all along, Dwarfs need an ogre to go against the Big Guys all the other teams get. I'd rather go back to almost exclusively big guy free teams insetad of the silly "everyone has to have one" situation we have now. The original substitution idea was merely to allow Chaos the mix they should have while not disrupting balance. I don't see not getting to develop Big Guys outside of their "natural" teams as a problem.
Maybe when the secret weapons roll in Dwarves should have the choice of fielding several or just one plus a big guy...

Well, if we'd go the 2-player penalty route for having a BG, I could live with dwarves, dark elves, high elves, amazon and undead not having a big guy.Dave wrote:I like that big guy - position player trade.

I think I like the idea of surrendering positional players for Big Guys, the only problem is that it might not be fully balanced; especially since the Undead, Helfs and Delfs got extra positions for not having BG's...

This is a good point. Dwarves and Skaven might have to go with a 4-0 blitzer and Storm Vermin allowance, tradable for big guys if they wish. I can't imagine a Skaven team giving up 2 Storm Vermin for a BG, though that's a different subject.

Dwarves don't need BG. Any dwarf coach with respect for himself, will have no problem handling it.
The Rat Ogre just fits so perfectly well on a Skaven team, he belongs there.
WE could do fine without the treeman, but Fluffwise, it fits well.
