Blood Bowl Pitch measurments

Post by Breten »

More of a comment than anything else, plus I wasn't sure where else to put this. I started working on a custom pitch, using the article in Blood Bowl magazine #4 as a guide. If anyone else is planning on doing this as well, just a little warning that the squares are a shade over an 1-1/8" square. I assumed they were 1"x1", and ended up with something that looked a little small. I cut the sheet at about 15"x26" (a little bigger for the edges) and it should be roughly 18"x30-1/4" Ah well, just throw it into the spare material pile for something else.

It's been commented on before. Also, the squares aren't all the same size

Well, I'm a newbie, and was mostly venting some steam. Though I guess that's what you get for assuming. I've cut out a second sheet, and started again, so hopefully there'll be no more major screw-ups as I really don't want to go buy another sheet.

If anyone is interested, we experimented with a cross shaped pitch a few years back,
2 players vs 2 players, one player starts in each arm of the cross,
Team coaches can only communicate with the other team verbally if their captains are in base to base.
IT was great fun, bit of a blood bath though, usually, one pair would converge on one player from th e other team.
still cool fun and easy to do as a special event in a league, sort of a royal rumble!

I thought the old style squares were 1"x1". Either way, you don't need to ditch the pitch. Compare your squares to the "official" squares, and use that Ratio to determine the size of your new throwing template. The size is not a problem as long as you account for it, and make a corrected throwing template.

Someone mentioned to me over on the GW forums that the official square size is 29mm, which I discovered on the new pitch. It's about half done, the current problem is trying to find static grass sheets. All I can find is bags of the stuff, so I'm going to experiment with a couple things for the field. I'm happy with it so far as it's my first piece of custom scenery. That's not slapped together anyways.

Didn't think the squares are square, slightly rectangula.
