I'll be a happy camper. A 5/1/3/4 Snotling that costs 70k is a fragile expensive investment ... but darn he's fun. The Snotling starting spell is Strength in Numbers .... all squares around one player are considered occupied by your players for one turn for purposes of blocking assists and fouls. On a successful cast, this means a wide open star player opponent can get hit by a Snotling with a ST 8 hit (7 assists) and another Snotling can run in for a +8 AV foul. I've gotten this to work once in 3 games, but its fun to pretend the Snotling is Bloodthirster even for one turn.

Damn! I was hoping there would be house rules for BB in Space, Under the Sea , or Antarctica.
Oh Well,... I guess something original will have to do.

I'm assuming it's only 1/10th of the online length because you cut out all the MBBL races, Galak. Looks good, nonetheless. Be nice to see that become "semi-official", I wouldn't mind seeing a return to the game of Wizards. They're worse than Star Players these days...at least you see Star Players sometimes.

Anything I say is totally opinion and (knowing my luck) probably completely wrong. Keep this in mind.

Yeah all the MBBL2 races were cut out and referenced at the end of the article with a link to the website ... ie if you use other teams other than the LRB official or the BB Mag experimental ones, check out here for the rules for those spellcasters. It was 7 pages long with just the LRB official and experimental teams ... lord forbid that I tried to add in stuff for Fimir or Elementalist spellcasters ... .... I doubt Andy wanted to do a 3 issue On-Pitch Spellcaster article .... its good stuff ... but you know it just doesn't match up to Blood Bowl At Sea.

Unfortunately, the Rotters and the Ogre team were not experimental when I wrote the article, so the spells Stream of Corruption and Smart Shot are not in the article ... Andy didn't tell me he was going to use the article this issue or I could have shot over an updated version with those 2 spells. ... oh well ... I'm just please as punch to have a real article in the Mag .... (the collector article wasn't really an article that I count as it didn't do anything to add to the game).

Anyway now that the article is getting printed I need to go make sure that the website is up to date so folks can find those spells .... might reorganize the web site into LRB official, BB Mag Experimental, MBBL2, and then Other teams to make it more user friendly to any Mag readers that swing by.

to be honest, I thought that many, if not most players preferred not to use wizards, esp. at tournies where skill at using rookie teams to win was preferred over star heavy, wizard-enabled teams. In all my time playing BB I've never once used a wizard in a competitive match, and to be honest I can't see a situation where I'd want to - I don't really see the need for them.

This isn't supposed to be a criticism of the rules before they're even published, but just to let you know you have a hardened sceptic to convert :)

From what i have heard about what happened at BB (the), quite alot of players thot just the opposite. I dont see any mention of wizards, but there were an awful lot of Star Players, people want to win, at any fair cost.

Then we agree to disagree I guess. As a Halfling Coach, I'm freebooting the Master Chef all the time.

One of the top 5 teams in the MBBL right now is a Dwarf team that just hired a wizard.

Chet Z., BBRC Member, freebooted a wizard for a critical game against the top rated Dwarf team in the league with his Amazons during the last season of the MBBL.

They have their place in the game ... but at the Bloodbowl cost of 150k ... I really doubt there were hardly any teams with a wizard too much opportunity cost there unless they were a Halfling squad.

As for the spellcasters ... well its probably the most popular house rule in the MBBL2 ... but as I said before ... I'll willingly admit that they will not be for everyone.

I saw them on BB.net

I like the rules and all the ideas behind them but prefer as much LRB league play as possible.

Like them and am looking forward to the mag..
