This is the more serius reply :)

The answer you are looking for is:
There is no best team. :o

One of the wonders of BB is that every team can win (yes even halflings and Goblins just dont count on it) on a regulair basis.
So sorry that there is no easy way out ;)

You just have to find the team that suits you style and then learn to play it to perfection. (or as close as possible)

Good luck and welcome to the board.
Poul

A lot depends on the rules.

If star players are allowed Humans tend to do very well.

Some tournaments give skills based on normal SPP progression ( :o ) in which case I think the normal high scoring teams can do well.

Others take away skills if you are a casualty, so high Av teams tend to do better.

Also the scoring system is important. Is winning the most important thing? Total TDs? Net TDs? How important are casualties.

Obviously teams like Skaven & Wood Elves tend to do well in tourneys where scoring lots of TDs is important where Dwarves, Orcs & other slow bashy teams tend to struggle to score more than 1 or 2 TDs.

Griff and Luthor. That's what won the BB.

IIRC they don't show the race, let alone the team composition.

one team I played against that absolutely hammered me was Griff, Zug, Luthor, a rookie Ogre, a few RR and the rest Linemen.

Once the ogre had piling on he took out a player nearly every turn.

I still think a better player than I could beat it though, and my humans weren't ideally suited to beat them!

If this is re: The Chaos Cup then the limit is one Star.
In which case..Humans/Griff or Luthor, Orcs/Varag, Undead/Luthor and CDs/Htark would probably be the best options IMO.
