Are you sure that the last four words in this quote shouldn't read "stop moaning"?

Martyn
Martyn, I've played elves for 8 years. I win at least 2/3 games, when I'm not absurdly unlucky, (which happens quite often!!)

If you need a few pointers, or a little play tactic improvement, I'd be happy to play you in the fumbbl league. Of nearly 800 coaches, I'm ranked 40+ most of the time, and steadily increasing.

We could play and I can point out your mistakes, what, and what not to do. You could study my tactics. Not to brag, but if you have problems, I can easily improve your coaching quite a deal I belive.

Ok, random idea based on the 2e elven team.. kinda :) Not play tested or even thought out properly so nyer :P

Lineman - 6 / 3 / 4 / 8 -- catch -- 80k
Thrower - 6 / 3 / 4 / 8 -- pass, catch -- 90k
Catcher - 7 / 3 / 4 / 7 -- catch, sprint -- 100k
Blitzer - 5 / 4 / 3 / 8 -- catch, block -- 110k

..... hmm. rubbish innit :)

:o Yep. 80k linemen with a near useless skill.

I wouldn't be surprised by Elven amazons (Av 7 & Dodge across the board).

Nope, you're all wrong, though I did see ONE roster that had an important element of the new team on it.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

New elf figs :D

New elf roster :puke:

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

I hate to play the stinker again but, althought I can't remember every roster listed here, I can't thik of one that I would like to see on the pitch...I guess I play the pessimist yet again.

Heh. Martyn's endless quest for improvement has been a source of amusement for me for a while now...
You're running at a combined what, W11 L12? with 2 elf teams in what are pretty tough competitive leagues at the end of the day. Almost .50 Given that elves start a little slow and early fatalities can accentuate that, you're not doing so bad. There's no advice, strategy guide out there that's gonna start allowing you to beat the best of the MBBL and MBBL2 on a regular basis with elves. If there was, I'd be all over it like a rash! :)
Just glancing at the tables, you're right in it with the rest of us Elf coaches..(The Heirs have just dropped to 3-2).
Play basic solid BB. Elves win by not rolling 1's at inappropiate times. They lose if they roll too many or if the 1's come up at the most damaging times. It really is that simple.

No offense intended at all here Martyn, but you're hardly 2-12 with elves, are you? There's no vast gulf between the figures you're posting and the rest of the elves in the MBBL (and MBBL2), is there?

As long as I'm entertaining someone...

I suppose so... I guess the thing is that every so often I play against someone who just kicks my a$$ so completely that I feel like a complete incompetent. I don't feel that I am playing well... and that is what I'm judging it on.

No offense taken by the way...

Sounds like me at the blood bowl. Played alright, .500 record - but crap ranking. Now feel like a complete BB muppet. (insert snide comment here)
Its easier to feel pissed off and pessimistic than satisfied and optimistic.

Martyn you seriously underestimate yourself in the games i've played against you, there was nothing to suggest you dont know how to play the game. Perhaps when yoo kick my ass on the table top game we've been going on about for six months it'll give you some much needed confidence as from what i can see that's all your a little short off ;-)

My bet for the Elf team is the predictable AV9, and reduced MA, possibly linemen lose there AG4 due to the heavier armour etc
