At the moment I am the only person still playing version 1, why? I don't know

I do in fact own version 2&3 as well but my brother and I play version 1.

LRB compared to 1st edition:

Shorter game ... more diverse teams ... better refined rules and balanced game play.

Sorry man, 1st edition is a very different game from the LRB. I write articles for the House Rulez magazine talking about 1st edition and how it compares to the LRB rules (think of them as the edition after 3rd) and its an entirely different game now.
