It was wood elves. In fact you can have a look at my roster. I still have it online somewhere I think...

Yeah to answer Torg's question, they played 44 games, with a record of 22-22. But it was one of my first ever teams, and they started slow while I learned the game. Obviously at the end they were VERY good because I won 10 in a row, including the BB. :)

Also remember that this was in vanilla 3rd ed rules so there are 3 Deeproots on there and such. :)

Awesome catcher! And Elven teams with AG increases are hot stuff. My DE thrower has a 6 AG. He can pretty much throw it wherever he wants. WE's are frightening when they are so efficient, fast and accurate, a deadly combination!

Yeah thinking about it 4 seasons is not realistic, 5 minimum. You have to have some luck in not taking casualties to experienced players and ofcourse develop the full squad. It was easier in 3rd Ed when you got bonus SPP rolls as well. Elven teams shoot up, but thats all the more reason to set a limit as a 250 Orc team compared to a 250 Elven team will be far more experienced. A 250 Rat team will be pretty lethal.

yeah she got the 2 ag +'s as her first 2 skills so it was easy to build her around that. she also has the cool stat of never having been hit by a wizard despite several attempts :)

i had an ag6 DE blitzer, but he wasn't nearly as cool because his ag upgrades were at 26 and 101 so you couldn't really plan for it nearly as well. He had dodge, standfirm, and leap in addition.

Well the term "season" is meaningless to me. If you play a fixed schedule with a set number of games that would make sense. However we play the "open" schedule thing so I could have potentially (back then) played all 44 of those games in a month. I didn't. I think it was more like 4. And now we have weekly game limits, and I have a lot less free time. I usually don't even get our weekly limit in most of the time. A league the size ours was would never work with a schedule thing.

DE blitzers I prefer St increases and have been fortunate to have 2 of these over the years, both killed by Minotars. Ofcourse with AG increases they are great catchers and interceptors.

Never played the Open system so can't comment. Time gets less with children and work. I would love to just play games all day!

Yeah well I don't really get to pick now do I? :)

To be honest I don't get upgrades very much so I take whatever I can get. :) However in that case, if I'd had the choice back then I would have turned down the 2nd AG+ for something else.

How about....

TR 200 - Top two players roll
TR 250 - Top three players roll
TR 300 - Top four players roll
TR 350+ - Top five players roll

I actually really like this idea :) (if I ran a league I'd use it over aging). Complexity might be a touch increased by nothing looking at a simple table doesn't solve (better than making 100 calculations).

If getting into the realms of compelxity you could say that only players with 51 or more SPP would be rolled for, (so you could have a team of veterans).
