where did Galak get this roster from?
is it a "semi-official" one?

If any elf should have Strenght skills, it should be the Dark Elves!

The catcher is a bit overboard, drop catch and he would be about right.
However, the rest of the team seems to be a bit weak. They will have no line to speak of and only two blitzers to do any hitting.

This is actually a misquoted/outdated version of the Elf Team roster that the BBRC has been using (and actually is better called the High Elf Pro team.)

1) We've never considered giving ST skills to the High Elf Blitzers, although it is under discussion to give them to Dark Elf Blitzers.
2) Leap has replaced Nerves of Steel for the catchers.
3) The Thrower now gets the traditional High Elf thrower discount and costs only 70k, not 80k. (Note that High Elf Throwers on the High Elf State team cost only 10k more than the linemen as well.)

Just wanted to correct a few misconceptions. Feedback is always welcome, though please try to keep any "crack-rock-smoking" references to a minimum. =)

On first look, I thought they the proposed new Elves are overpowered. However, with AG 7 and only 2 players with any blocking skills to start, keeping the team alive will be pretty difficult.

I have to say I don't like AG4 with Stand Firm access - but then this is only for 2 players. To me, the + 1 MV and +1 to AV for the blitzers doesn't make a great deal of sense (more armour and faster). Perhaps if the blitzers were MV 6 that would work.

This team is certainly set up for the pass - High Elves tend to develop their Lion Warriors into blitzers (or at least some of them) - doing this with the new roster wastes 2 skills rather than 1 (perhaps waste is the wrong word here but you know what I mean!).

As others have said, its a much better roster than the recent BB Mag rosters.

0-2 Blitzer 110,000 7 3 4 8 Block, Side Step General, Agility, Strength
I like it! :D

The lineman and blitzers are great. Drop one MA from the catcher and start playtesting!

Four elf teams? Yes, a bit much. On the other hand, I've never really understood the point of the HE team. Scrap them, eventually, and leave AV 8 to the Dark elves...

My previous post was written before seeing Milo's post.

Comments on that. I am not sure that changing NoS to Leap adds anything to Elven rosters - Leap is already on the Woodies - so the amended roster is "less new".

Still not keen on 4 AG with Stand Firm access whichever Elf category has them.

Do you consider to tweak Darl Elfs more than the thought of giving DE Blitzers access to STR skills?
They seem to be outclassed by all other Elf teams. As someones else has said on the "lets rate the teams" topic
1) too slow for Elfs
2) no real Elf passing game (no Catchers)
3) supposed to be bashy Elfs but without bashing capability. Only Witchelfs are some sort of brutal but they are expensive, only show up at DE teams later in teambuilding and have fragile AV.

What about making WE 10K cheaper (in contrast to the expensive Thrower) or reducing Blitzer Slot to 2 and giving DE some sort of tough catcher/runner type? 8/2/4/7 Catch, Block or 8/3/4/7 Catch, Sprint or 8/3/4/7 Sure Hands, Sprint for 90K?

A str2 Catcher is NOT what Dark Elves need, IMHO, and the other catcher would make DE simply HE with Witch Elves.
Maybe the Witch Elves could use Str skill access too, or some extra AV...

I don't think adding more positions to the current roster is a wise thing to do... Besides a runner can be evolved out of a thrower (that at least is the way I liked to evolve my DE Throwers; with skills like NoS (when I got lucky), Block, Dodge and Safe Throw.

I think it is better to improve the current positional players...

Good GOD please no more leaping AG4 players. I HATE leap. Should be modified by Tackle zones IMHO.
The roster Zombie posted seems fine if you remove the strength skills from the blitzers and knock an MA off the Catcher.

Changes to Dark Elves? How about the one I've been toting for months: Throwers get changed to Runners with Sure Hands instead of Pass (similar to Dwarf Runners in that respect).

Sounds good. I like that idea. Maybe combined with some (small) improvement to increase the hitting capacity... (I understood that was the problem to be addressed here, though I'm not sure whether it would be necessary...)

That's unfortunate, NoS is so rarely taken that it would have been nice to see it on a starting player.

lol you mental, loads of players take it in fumbbl, its a fantastic skill. Often causes me problems with marking catchers, cause they are going to still roll the same regardless or how many tz i can get on them.
