I'll try to answer everyone in this post ;-)

Tchatter:
In fact I do not intend to develop a web-based game but more a PC game just like CM. Maybe someday I'll add multiplayer / network features but for a first release, you'll be only playing against the computer.

Dave:
Having a turn-based play seems a bad idea to me for 2 reasons :
- the IA required to play a BB game is very complicated and I don't think I could develop it by myself
- this means that user would have to react a lot of times during the course of the match (to react to events) and I'd rather have him react a little bit of course, much less than what you propose
My vision of tactic is much simpler with a much smaller IA : user chooses an offense and a defense tactic (ie Da Kage, 4-4-3 wide defense...) and the game is simulated on a time-based system (maybe not to close to the BB system). There will be some other parameters to twicker (such as asking a player to try to kill instead of getting the ball...)
Btw, this might avoid me having some problems with Games Workshop...
About the 2D : the first release will only display a slide bar showing for example : Champions of death have the ball and are 10 yards from opponent's endzone. Comments will tell a little bit about opponent's tactics : "Griff Oberwald starts a run by the left into the Champions endzone..."
I expect coaches to react after a TD or after the end of a half.

DaFrenchCoach :
I know very well Towbowl Tactics and I know also that the IA is its biggest problem. The task of developping it seems to be a very hard and painful one, that's why I do not intend to step into it.

Dark Lord :
I don't know anything about Small Ball.

Lawquoter :
You might be speaking about Tow Bowl. This is very different from what I intend to do. In BB CM you should not have to really play the game : you set the tactics and watch the game (and react if you want).

No the game I'm speaking of isn't Tow Bowl, but I think it was called "Blood Bowl Alive." Can't find the link right now. It was an actual p.c. adaptation of the table top game, where you would command your computer version of your team and play a game. I think the writers had ambition to make it so that you could play tournaments and leagus, but never finished the project. I've fooled around with it on my p.c., and if someone were to pick it up and refine it, it could be something fun. Granted, by now, the graphics are a little out dated, but I could live with that.

NUFFLE SUCKS!
LQ says " I may be slow, but the sh*ttiness of this beer hasn't hit me yet."

I twist nuffle's teat and laugh.

OK. I know Blood Bowl Alive.

But this is not really the kind of game I'm planning to develop... :(
(and I don't think I would be able to do it without a lot of difficulties...)
