Cool, I live in Paris and my parents are in Normandy, near the US cimeterry so feel free to contact me before coming! :D (Especially if your sister's nice!!!!   )

So the thing is I met a coach from Kansas at Nottingham...who was he?

PS for Aino: Please, no politics. It's the policy here. We all have our opinion on that matter but it's not the place. Please remember that  :D .

No it's not. It was just a rule that lasted only a few day on France bloodbowl, the site to play online. This only applied for those playing with javabowl, not even pbm. The problem was:they thought that WA was too good for BG and not negative enough. This has to do with the bashing tendency on the site. The argument was they could play everyturn and were casualties machines...This has been debated here but i didn't agree at all with that. On the contrary! I played a game against skavens with a RO. Four times, i surround his RO with dwarves with guard, twice his RO rolls a 1 when trying to block! :pissed: Hence, my opponent could continue with no risk and scoring turn 8! Ok, it was pure luck for him but that helped him over the whole game. WA is bad enough if you know how to play them. But many people begin with javabowl. They're complete newbies who've never played for 'real' with figs. So, there are always many complains to change some rules. i think it's because they didn't have time enough to really appreciate how it's fixed up. Although, there are a few things to improve...like the kicking table!

Actually the situation about rules is the same as in England i believe. :) There's no unity. Most people play with the new rules but they adapt it a bit (applying some rules or not).

Dunno can't speak for the whole of england but fumbbl is international and english isn't the most dominant nation by any means (numbers wise of course) and we play using the LRB as far as javabowl can at the moment.

Though did have some guy on yesterday who shall remain nameless who said the turnover rule was stupid, rolling dice to pick up was stupid, the way assists are worked out is stupid, the fact you can fail short passes is stupid, tackle zones are stupid, the amount of skulls he rolls is stupid and the whole game is based on luck and he can't do anytihng he wants.

He then said he was looking for a startegy game where you have control over where your players are positioned etc :/

Always seem to be a fair few Swedes and Finns on when I'm around, but that may be due in part to my timing. I think its more due to the wide availability of broadband over in this part of the world.

heheh...let's see, note to self, warn little sister about french guys.
She's nice. But I'm hoping the fact that she is American will ward off potential French suitors  . Whenever I say that she just gives me the look  that I'm sure every big brother gets. Well at least I do. 8)

Not sure, but I'm jealous as hell that he got over there. :D I'm pretty anxious to go. I haven't traveled since I was in Germany three years ago.

Well..I met a lot of people that weekend (and drunk copious amounts of alcohol while doing so...), so I expect I've forgotten a lot of faces and names..indeed there's some members here that I don't recall meeting at all...
That said, I believe you might be referring to Gallowin, but he's from Texas not Kansas.

I've heard that the Parisian suburbs have a lot of bloodbowl players, and I was wondering if Subbuteo was popular years and years ago there to sort of sent the precendent?
