This is total and utter Bullshit. And I waste my thoughts on balancing...
Funny the MBBL2 format with 77 allowed teams is doing very well. There are 5 different leagues that allow all 77 rosters, and I don't think the game suffered.

Now I'm not saying the game NEEDS 77 rosters ... nope ... the point here is that 19 teams are not too many ... not even close.

I don't like the catchers because the pose is funny, but the rest of the team looks nice.

On a less serious note: well, fat Halflings with beards have a certain charm.

The Dwarfs legs are waaay too short ... :P

To be honest, i'm not saying that the elfs are best Blood Bowl minis ever made, this gotta be the Chaos Dwarfs (Seriously, i'm not sure which are the best, the Ogres are great, but too big). But i would like to see them in my hands before i judge them. I think i remember them looking really nice at the Blood Bowl.

The Catchers pose is a bit strange, but somewhat realistic imo, it looks like he's jumping for a ball passed a little too far, he can't do the ideal "chest catch" Little sad that both catchers have the same pose.

I'm not terribly fond of the paint job, but I like the new models overall - with the exception of the leaping catcher.

IMHO they look terrible. But tbh its just the faces.

The catchers, as has been said, look terrible, that pose is the worst I've ever seen.

However, I like the figs with the face gaurds, they look cool. I think who ever did the painting just did a horrible job on the faces. I'm looking forward to seeing what some other painters can do with this team, because I think half the problems with this team are attributable to the guy doing the painting (I've now seen two versions, by the same guy I think, this team and the hunter orange scheme team).

Toby wrote:Sure its obvious how it was meant to be - fantasy races playing football.

CLASSIC Fantasy Races like Elves and Dwarves, who play completely different. 4 Elf Teams, löl.

I would like to have 6 more Lizardmen Teams please.
And at least two more dwarven and Orc variations, too!

As long as those teams are fluffy, balanced and represanted by decent minis I've got no problem with a little variation! 8)

@ Toby

Ok, you go and play BB with Humans, Orcs, Dwarfs and Elves, "as it should be".

Me, I'll go and play with as many balanced rosters as I can find.

I wonder if we lobbied hard enough, we could get Fanatic to commision another catcher figure?

Nah, thought not!

The new elves look great...excpt for the catcher. I think the new teams are getting to be too much. Most could just be alternate figs for existing rosters. Khemri, Rotters, and New Elves should be the same as Undead, Chaos, and High/wood/dark Elves. More new figs, less new rules.

Players are taught to never catch the ball with their chest. Only leads to the ball bouncing out. The catch is made with the hands, the ball brought into the body under control and secured with 5 points of contact (fingers, palm, loer arm, upperm arm, ribcage) The minis are in fact almost right in their technique (I was always taught to aim to make a triangle with my index fingers and thumbs and catch the ball so the point went into the triangle.)

That said, I can't catch worth a crap which is why I ended up playing End.

I think those figs looked good when Iactually saw them, so I'm still going to buy them. If I then think they suck once I've had a better look at them then I reserve the right to change my opinion that they are actually pretty cool (and a lot better than the Nurgle's rotters, but we'll let Steve Buddle off on grounds of those cool Vampires). I would have prefferred a catcher along the lines of the old second edition fig pose.

Bottom line ... its one of the great splits in BB folks.

There are several coaches that love many balanced rosters for variety.

There are several that want a dirty dozen to use only.

That's never going to change. I think Fanatic is going to split the middle for the most part. New teams in moderation. Yes they've come out with a lot more than I thought they would lately ... but if you look at the miniature production schedule ... I have a feeling its about to stop for a while with the Elves being one of the last "new" teams.

I think they're ugly as butt. Mostly because their hair. Otherwise they would look decent.

On the catcher: First off I dislike these figures because they'd look to me like they're constantly floating away. I hate that. Only figures that do that should have jetpacks. I like my figures to look like they're running. Standing, maybe. Blocking, maybe if it looks like they're running and blocking. Catching? Sure, if they're on the floor. I make my Catchers do high-fives because I'm gay. Now, onto the pose of the catchers in more detail. Someone said that their arms are too short, and that if you stick your arms up you can reach way higher than that. True. But, he's not sticking his arms all the way up, and you can see that they're bent at the elbows a bit. At the highest point your arms go, you should be able to bend your forearm over your head. This is one of the first things you learn in figure drawing, cause people tend to make arms short. Anyhow, when you stick your arm up and bent it over your head, notice where your shoulder is. It should be cuddling up to your ear because they're lovers. Notice the Elf catcher: He's keeping his shoulders down, either because he's so self conscious about his posture that he wouldn't let anyone see him being so Humanish, or his ears had a torrid love affair with his knees and now refuse to touch the shoulders. Or, they could have had someone else sketch these guys for them and actually have them come out good.

The last guy looks like he's got his game mixed up. Looks like he's going for a three point shot. "What? I thought it was a basketball!"

Actually, come to think of it, I don't like the Elf's lower halfs. They either have homo thigh-high boots, or they have tights on. Come on, people, get some boots or something. Some real ones.

Okay I'm done. Bye.
